Update: 15-07-2021 | 07:33:07

On July 13, the delegation to inspect the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic of Ministry of Health led by Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuan, the Deputy Minister of Health, had a physical inspection of the facilities of collecting and treating Covid-19 patients and enterprises taking measures to prevent and control the epidemic in Binh Duong. At the destinations, the delegation checked and appreciated the province's collection and treatment of Covid-19 patients and suggested that Binh Duong enterprises need a "3 on-site" production plan.

3-level treatment model implemented

At the Becamex social housing treatment area of Chanh Phu Hoa ward in Ben Cat town, reporting to the delegation, Dr. Tran Tuan Thanh, Deputy Director of Medical Center Ben Cat town and Director of the treatment area said that the area is currently treating 245 patients infected with Covid-19; in which, the one-time negative cases are 2, the second negative 11, and the seriously ill 6 cases. The area has applied information technology in medical examination and treatment, especially, the examination via mobile apps, which have been installed with software to reduce patient contact but still ensure treatment. Reporting to the delegation of Ministry of Health at the Covid-19 patient treatment area in Phu Chanh ward of Tan Uyen town, Dr. Van Quang Tan, director of the provincial General Hospital, said that the treatment area was set up with a total of 493 beds in 2 buildings. Currently, the area is treating 115 mild, asymptomatic patients. The 3 levels of the patient treatment area are classified as mild, moderate, negative patients and patients with indications for discharge. In particular, on the 3rd floor of the treatment area, there are 30 negative patients, waiting to return home. The treatment area is also prepared with an ICU (emergency and resuscitation) center with connected camera to serve the treatment of seriously ill patients.

After visiting two treatment areas for Covid-19 patients, the delegation had a working session at the provincial Center for Disease Control where Pro. Dr. Tran Van Thuan said that in the next few weeks, the number of Covid-19 cases in Binh Duong tends to increase, so it is necessary for the cooperation of the whole political system to intervene with highly effective anti-epidemic measures. “In particular, Binh Duong needs to further promote the regular and daily activities of the community Covid-19 teams. In the coming days, the province needs to further strengthen its testing capacity to be able to meet the needs of broad screening in the community. In order for the sampling to be effective, it is necessary for the active participation of the authority to direct the forces involved in coordinating the sampling areas to ensure safety for disease prevention and control. Currently, the province has implemented a 3-level treatment model to reduce the load on provincial treatment facilities, including F0 asymptomatic, F0 with mild symptoms and F0 with severe symptoms, but the province needs to prepare in the coming time to add up quarantine areas to treat patients in a new epidemic situation," said Pro. Dr. Tran Van Thuan.

The role of Covid-19 teams should be promoted in enterprises

At Saigon Stec Co.. Ltd. in VSIP II Industrial Park of Thu Dau Mot city, as soon as he arrived at the factory, Pro. Dr. Tran Van Thuan asked to immediately check the disease prevention and control at the factories and places where workers live every day. Currently, Saigon Stec Company has more than 6,000 employees working at the company. During the 4th outbreak, the company had 17 F1 and 152 F2 cases. Every day, when workers come to the company, their temperature is taken at the gate, then they have to scan a QR code to declare health status, wash their hands and disinfect.

In case workers show signs of cough, fever, and difficult breathing, they will be transferred to a temporary isolation room to exploit contact history as well as administration of rapid tests. The enterprise is developing a plan for 20% of employees to stay at the company to work under the "3 on-site" model.

After listening to business representatives answer the delegation's questions, Pro. Dr. Tran Van Thuan asked enterprises to set up Covid-19 safety teams in workshops and factories to regularly monitor the health of workers, tracking for symptoms of fever, cough, and difficult breathing; and requiring 100% of workers to sign commitment to prevent and control epidemics at factories and hostels.
