At the seminar on competition trends in the new era, experts and business leaders all emphasized the importance of technology in the new era. Technology leads the world in many areas of economy, culture, society, and the "power of technology" is happening at any time. Therefore, people have to raise their level to adapt.
Delegates contribute ideas at the session about Competition in the new era.
To heighten technology level
At the seminar, experts confirmed that trade competition is expected to support national growth. Entering the 21st century, especially from the second half of the second decade, there have been many complicated changes and fluctuations happening in the world. Globally, there has been a trend of shifting power from the West to the East, leading to a change in the correlation of forces between major countries. In the Asia-Pacific region, there is a strategic competition, and at the same time an increasing gathering of forces in different trends, making competition and cooperation among major countries fiercer.
In particular, the importance of technology in the new era is noticeable, and there is a very fierce competition in many areas. Business leaders said that at present, besides robots and virtual reality technology, factories are also developing improvements in the use of cloud computing and intelligent sensors. Intelligent sensors can perform tasks such as converting data into different measurement units, connecting to other machines, storing statistics, responding and automatically disconnecting devices if they occur problems to ensure safety. Internet of Things (IoT) allows us to get the right information at the right time to make the right decisions. All of this data, as well as customer feedbacks, will have a significant impact on research and development activities, helping to bring experience to users and drive innovation.
According to Tim KoBe, founder and CEO of Eight Inc (Singapore), to be able to participate in the global trend, Vietnam should take appropriate steps to show the transformation of strategy creating added values; focus on marketing because this is a suitable step. Vietnam should take steps to expand and diversify, increase its presence in the international arena through focusing on marketing strategies...
Especially, Binh Duong - one of the leading developing localities in Vietnam in terms of attracting investment in general and foreign investment in particular - need to exploit abundant human resource, focusing on training of skilled workers to adapt to the new trend. The province focuses on advantages of information communication technology and infrastructure to improve the competitiveness and position of Binh Duong in the new period. “E-commerce takes place very quickly. It can be said that people, who are under 30 years old, now are tech-savvies. Therefore, it is necessary to shift from thinking to production to create values that are useful to all. It is important that we understand and apply technological competence to create the greatest value. Because that is the core and biggest goal of technology", said Mr. KoBe about the direction of Binh Duong's development.
The inevitable adaption
Despite many challenges, there are still many predictions that machines would gradually replace people in many areas. However, most automation technology is used for jobs that are considered unsafe for humans. Thus, it can be said that robots cannot replace humans, but just an additional tool to help people complete their work more effectively. We still need people who can manage them, like the transition from farm work to factory work in the early twentieth century; almost every industry will need new forms of labor. And this is the time when the world needs a human resource that can build hardware and software; people who can design automation and robots as well as people who can adapt and manage those devices.
According to Pooja Shukla, founder and CEO of LAVIDA, we must adapt and adapt quickly to ensure keeping up with the pace of technology change, of thinking, of the market; also willing to accept casualties in this change. If we do not perform the self-improvement then we will be left behind by the competition of new ideas. For example, in terms of human resources, employers must know their weaknesses and strengths, and frankly share their difficulties with labor training units.
According to her, the most important skill is human skill. This is the key in a new era of competition. Effective human skills will help employees expand their network of contacts, increase communication abilities and strengths in the context of integration.
One of the challenges in competition is that we must understand the culture, the context, the people in each country and each region. The price war is not everything but it is important to understand culture and people. The problem is how to market products could bring practical benefits to the people, helping people, customers and employees to be more and more prosperous. That will make them life-time loyal customers.
