Concentrating on removing bottlenecks to improve PCI

On the afternoon of November 2, provincial People's Committee in coordination with the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organized a workshop to discuss solutions to improve the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in  2023 and the following years. The event was attended by Dau Anh Tuan, Deputy General Secretary, Head of the VCCI’s Legal Department, Director of the PCI Project; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

According to the results announced by VCCI, the PCI of Binh Duong province in 2022 reached 65.13 points, ranking 36th nationwide, down 30 places compared to 2021. Mr. Tuan said that improving competitiveness not only requires the efforts by provincial leaders, but also the efforts by all departments, sectors and localities. He said that Binh Duong needs to focus on thoroughly applying information technology to quickly resolve administrative procedures. In addition, the province needs to further accompany enterprises to overcome difficulties, stabilize and develop their business-production activities; strengthen coordination, improve proactiveness and efficiency in management, guidance and support towards the satisfaction of people and enterprises, especially small and medium-sized ones...

Concluding the workshop, Mr.Minh emphasized that in order to improve PCI, the province’s departments, sectors and localities need to further promote administrative procedure reform, focusing on improving the investment environment and competitiveness. Provincial leaders acquired and appreciated all opinions by enterprises at the workshop. In the coming time, Binh Duong will drastically enhance the quality of the investment environment, improve PCI and commit to always creating favorable conditions for enterprises to surmount difficult and feel secure in production and business.
