Connecting and sharing love

Update: 30-06-2021 | 10:55:38

Since the 4th wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the province has had a lot of support activities for anti-Covid-19 forces and those who are in medical isolation and blockade areas, contributing to soon fight the pandemic in order to return a peaceful life to all people.

Connecting hearts

On June 26, members of the Binh Duong Raptor Club set out and successfully transported about 6 tons of vegetables from Go Cong in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang province to Binh Duong to support people in blockage and medical isolation areas. This is the second vegetable transport batch that members of the club have made with about 20 support vehicles. The first batch was realized a day ago with 10 support vehicles that transported about 3 tons of vegetables to a number of blockage and medical isolation areas in the province.

Di An SOS team brings gifts from donors to  support people in areas under blockade and medical isolation in Di An city

Nguyen Van Hung who works for a car garage in Thuan An city’s An Phu ward said that his friend named Nha in Tien Giang province said he would support vegetables for people in Binh Duong and wanted to have support in transportation to do this. Therefore, Hung asked for members of the Raptor Club to give support in vehicles via his Facebook and Zalo. Unexpectedly, this received a very positive response from members of the club.

Mr. Hung said: “So far, we have successfully transported 2 shipments of vegetables from Tien Giang to Binh Duong to support people in need. We always hope that in addition to the last 2 shipments, there will be more connections so that we continue participating in supporting the transportation of such more beloved shipments... in the coming time".

Due to the complicated developments of the epidemic, this second batch of vegetable transportation was strictly controlled by localities where there are vegetable gardens. To receive vegetables, only 5 drivers not living in pandemic hit-areas were allowed to enter vegetable gardens and carry vegetables to a gathering point about 25km far from vegetable gardens. At the gathering point, the remaining cars transfered vegetables to their own car in order to transport them Binh Duong. Hence, the shipping time was slower than planned, but everyone was very happy. At 12 pm, even though it was raining and windy, at the gathering place, everyone still worked hard to load each bag of vegetables to each car.
Sharing love

In addition to organizing rice ATMs to support rice for people in need, Di An SOS Team has also been a place chosen by many units and donors to "send love" to people affected by Covid-19 pandemic as well as anti-Covid-19 forces in Di An ward in particular and Di An city in general. Every day, members of the team is very busy with such significant activities as directly handing out meals to anti-Covid-19 forces at checkpoints, offering vegetables and fruits from donors to needy people at the city’s Red Cross Society’s point receiving resources for pandemic prevention and control at No. 51, Nguyen Du street, Di An ward.

As noted by the reporter, at 10 a.m. on June 26, members of the Di An SOS Team were still on their way to give gifts, essential necessities for the local new areas under lockdown and medical isolation. The team supported 15 gifts to lodgers at alley 159, Nguyen Du street, Dong Tan quarter, Di An ward. Each gift included 5kg rice, 1 box of instant noodles, 1 bottle of fish sauce and 1 bottle of soy sauce. At 11 a.m., members of the team received 27 gifts, including vegetables, canned fish, soy sauce, from Nguyen Thien charity group, so they continued sending additional 15 gifts to lodgers at  alley 159 on  Nguyen Du street while the remaining 12 gifts  were presented to people in the blockade, medical isolation area  on street No.3, Nhi Dong quarter in Di An ward.

Kim Ngoc My, Head of Di An SOS Team, said that this was a place just blocked at noon on June 25, so the team came to give gifts twice to promptly support and encourage people here. After 2 times of bringing gifts to them, he and members of the team felt somewhat secure. He shared: "In the morning, there are rice, noodles. And now there are more vegetables and fruits, so people here are also okay. When having more resources, we will continue bringing them to people here with the hope that they can rest assured to well implement their prescribed medical isolation period, joining hands with the locality to well control the pandemic”.

He added that his team will quickly bring necessities from donors to those facing difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic, everything is precious and is also very necessary for people at this time. The pandemic has made many people facing difficulties and not going shopping. Especially, workers at lodging facilities have no job, so there are more difficulties.
