Career passion has motivated Nguyen Sy Hai, electrical engineering supervisor of Asia Packaging Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. in My Phuoc 2 Industrial Park (Ben Cat Town), to make many initiatives to bring values to the sustainable development of enterprises.

Effective ideas

Working with the company for more than 16 years, as an electrical technical supervisor in charge of the plant's troubleshooting and equipment improvement research, Nguyen Sy Hai is considered an "innovative tree".

Specifically, he studied and had innovate ideas to improve techniques and operations, overcome limitations of equipment and machines, and contribute to increasing productivity of factory, reducing the amount of raw materials consumed and waste products.

An initiative, which is his biggest success and appreciated by Directors Board, is to edit, install more handgrips, program to change operation of cup conveyors". He researched this project in many months; after being applied into practical production, it helped to quickly overcome limitations and improve the efficiency of machine. This has helped the company not have to invest in more cup pressing machines, saving some costs for businesses, saving electricity used for the machine (more than 100 million VND/month), reducing manpower to operate the machine, and other consumable costs when the machine is in operation.

Nguyen Sy Hai, electrical engineering supervisor of Asia Packaging Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd., keeps researching and learning to come up with many innovative ideas that bring great values.

In addition, he also developed another initiative of connecting compressed air pipes to change the cup blowing program for the cup pressing machine from continuous blowing to blowing based on the operating cycle of the machine. The amount of compressed air used when operating is only 30% compared to before the change.

This initiative helps saving 50 million VND/month on electricity bills; reducing the load, prolonging the use of consumable equipment and the life of the air compressor.

Most recently, he has the initiative "Designing a chemical filling system to keep the concentration stable to ensure that washed cans are always of good quality". This system not only contributes to maintaining the quality of products after washing, but also reducing the amount of chemicals used for washing cans compared to before, and supports the wastewater treatment system, keep the amount of chemicals used in the wastewater treatment area stable and at the lowest level...

With highly effective initiatives and creativity, Hai was awarded certificates of merit by Provincial People's Committee, the Prime Minister...

Hai said: “Initiatives and creative ideas as being applied in practice have helped improving production efficiency, reducing product costs, and increasing competitiveness for the company; at the same time contribute to the protection of environmental resources. It is practical and necessary work that makes me feel happy when I think about these initiatives…”.

To spread the sense of creativity

Hai has found favoured with his colleagues at the company. Because he always shares his work experience with colleagues, especially young persons who have just started working. In addition, he always takes the lead and motivates his colleagues to actively take part in the movement "Good Labour - Creative Labour", "Developing initiatives and technical improvements" launched by Trade Union and the company.

Hai has inspired his colleagues in the initiative and technical improvement movement at the company. For example, Ngo Van Quy, an employee of Technical Department, has also actively collaborated with colleagues to improve the efficiency and productivity of can washing machines.

Their project is to reuse water of last-stage washing for first-stage washing". This initiative has helped reducing the amount of clean water input by nearly 30m3/day, 900m3/month.

Or at heating stage of chemical solution to wash cans, Quy came up with an idea of connecting the same pipe for two can washing machines, adding a heat exchanger system to increase heat exchange capacity to reduce 1 boiler, contributing to reducing more than 30% of gas used, saving costs and benefiting the company.

The most typical are the initiatives of Hai and Quy that have rationalized the production process, ensured occupational safety and health, made an important contribution to the completion of production plan, and were appreciated by the Board of Directors. Individuals making effective initiatives have been timely rewarded by the company to encourage employees to improve labour productivity, product quality, create competitiveness to help the enterprise develop sustainably, and ensure good jobs, income and workers' lives.
