Construction of industrial park infrastructure integrated with urbanization

Binh Duong's position is heightening, becoming one of the major industrial development localities of the country. To continue facilitate industrial development in the coming time, Binh Duong is further strengthening the land fund for industrial park development, focusing on preparing good conditions to satisfy investors' needs, exploiting opportunities from the industrial revolution to proactively welcome new, better quality capital flows.

Infrastructure of Binh Duong's industrial parks is planned to be increasingly complete, with inter-regional connectivity, meeting production and business requirements and many accompanying utilities to serve domestic and foreign investors.

Upgrade industrial parks

Immediately after innovating the development approach from industry - service - agriculture to industry - service - urban, Binh Duong built Binh Duong Industrial - Service - Urban Complex for integrated development, including: urban areas, industrial parks, commercial areas, high-quality entertainment services, residential areas, resettlement... Unified management, investment invitation as well as construction of technical and social infrastructure was enhanced to form an investment attraction strategy based on building a complete ecosystem, serving the needs of domestic and foreign investors.

 Up to now, Binh Duong is one of the localities with the highest urbanization rate (82%), with 4 cities and 1 town, possesses synchronous and modern transportation infrastructure. Binh Duong is one of the leading localities in the country in industrial production and FDI attraction. In the first 10 months of 2023, despite being affected by difficulties and challenges from both domestic and foreign sources, Binh Duong continued to be in the top localities attracting strongly domestic and foreign investment capital. Accumulated up to now, the whole province currently has 64,631 domestic enterprises, with a total investment capital of VND702 trillion; attracted 4,185 FDI projects, total capital of US$40.2 billion.

According to investors, Binh Duong has a pretty good planning vision as the infrastructure is continuously being built and upgraded, always oriented to connect with the Southern key economic region through National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van routes... Most industrial parks in the province are planned and oriented towards modern, high-quality construction, with complete and sustainable ecosystems. In particular, the provincial government is strongly committed to accompanying investors and businesses.

Attract quality investment capital

Industrial parks in the province have achieved positive results in many aspects. With 29 industrial parks in operation, the occupancy rate reached over 91%, making Binh Duong the locality with the highest industrial park occupancy rate in the country. Besides, the joint venture industrial park between Vietnam and Singapore has brought great results. From the first VSIP with an area of 500 hectares in Thuan An City, up to now, VSIP has developed 12 projects with a total land fund of over 10,000 hectares across the country, attracting a total investment capital worth about US$18 billion and creating more than 300,000 jobs in Vietnam.

In the coming time, Binh Duong aims to attract scientific and technical professions, bringing high surplus value. The scientific technological industrial park aimed by the province in the "Smart City" Project is a concrete example. In addition, for sustainable development, Binh Duong has connected infrastructure with Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities in the region.

Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC, said that in addition to infrastructure factors and policies to support secondary investors, foreign investors, especially investors from the US and EU, who pay much attention to sustainable industrial parks, as well as the ecosystem surrounding industrial parks such as education systems, health care systems, housing areas for workers, and utility areas. To welcome giants, industrial parks in the country in general and Binh Duong in particular need to upgrade to new standards. In the coming period, the work of attracting investment into provincial industrial parks will have a positive, more substantive, more selective change in the direction of specialization, ecology, intelligence, and will create new attraction.

To promote business and investment opportunities ofFDI enterprises coming to Binh Duong, the province is planning 15 more industrial parks with a total area of 10,200 hectares. In the immediate future, the province urgently completes industrial parks, such as: Bau Bang, Cay Truong, VSIP 3... to diversify and best serve the needs of investors. In addition, Binh Duong continues to upgrade and expand important traffic routes such as National Highway 13, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 and many other routes, enhancing connectivity not only within the region but also flexibly connects to the Southern Key Economic Region.

For sustainable industrial development, Binh Duong is adjusting the spatial distribution of the province's industrial development in the direction associated with the Southeast region, in accordance with the province's overall planning and the advantages of each locality. The adjustment ensures high specialization and enhances intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity; Forming industrial, urban, service and logistics belts along the corridors of Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 and expressways of the Southeast region through Binh Duong province.
