Contest on environmental protection and traffic safety for war veterans held

Early September 13, Phu Giao district’s War Veterans Association coordinated with the district’s Traffic Safety Committee and Division of Natural Resources and Environment to organize a contest on environmental protection, the Law on Road Traffic.

The contest absorbed 11 teams from 11 War Veterans Association branches of communes and township in the district. They had to complete 2 multiple-choice test contents on environmental protection and Road Traffic Law. In the art performance competition, each unit performed a program with solo, duet or trio types. The contents of songs on environmental protection and traffic safety were recognized and widely disseminated through the mass media. As a result, the first prize went to the War Veterans Association branch of An Binh commune. Second and third prizes were awarded to the War Veterans Association branches of Vinh Hoa and Phuoc Sang communes, respectively.

The contest contributed to improving legal knowledge about ensuring traffic order and safety, environmental protection, management and use of resources for the association’s cadres, members and members of clubs on law dissemination propaganda; raising awareness of obeying traffic laws and building traffic culture among the association’s officials and members, thereby contributing to the local goal on reducing the number of traffic accidents. The contest also helped discover, praise and replicate typical collectives and individuals in the local environmental protection.
