Continuing revolutionary tradition, contributing to local overall achievements

Early September 4, Ben Cat city’s Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

The event was attended by Nguyen Minh Triet, former Politburo member and former State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council, along with representatives of provincial departments, sectors and leaders of the city over periods.

Over the past 79 years, together with other localities in the province, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ben Cat city continued the revolutionary tradition, strongly promoting solidarity, dynamism, and creativity to overcome many challenges. They joined hands in building and developing the city, achieving significant accomplishments, contributing to the overall success of the province.

In the first eight months of 2024, the city's economy continued to develop steadily. The city’s total production value reached VND 180 trillion, an increase of 21.5% compared to the same period last year. The city’s economic structure continued shifting in the right direction, with industry (68.9%) - trade and services (30.9%) - agriculture (0.2%). The city attracted 254 investment projects, bringing the total number of projects in the city to 6,845. The city’s total State budget revenue was VND 4,082.514 billion, achieving 85% of the assigned estimate.

The city consistently paid timely and thoughtful attention to policy beneficiaries and “paying debt of gratitude” activities. In addition, the city’s efforts in disease prevention, public healthcare and food safety were effectively implemented. The province’s education and training  work was continuously renewed and enhanced in quality.

Since the beginning of the tenure, the city's Party Committee has developed 755 new Party members (reaching 108% of the target), including 20 student members (143%), 55 worker members (110%), 8 business owners (267%), and 11 Party organizations outside of State areas (110%)… The city's political security and social order have been maintained in a stable and secure manner.

On this occasion, on behalf of the State President, provincial leaders announced a decision and awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal to Bui Minh Thanh, Secretary of Ben Cat city’s Party Committee for his outstanding achievements in labor, creativity, and national construction. They also posthumously awarded the State Honorary Title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to Nguyen Thi De in Thoi Hoa ward for her significant contributions and sacrifices to the cause of national liberation and defence. Leaders of the province and city also awarded Party badges to Party members whose Party seniority is from 30 years to 60 years and commended collectives and individuals who won awards in the 2024 contest on learning the history of Ben Cat city’s Party Committee and producing video clips to promote historical sites and figures in the city.
