Contributing youth strength to building up a civilized, prosperous and beautiful Binh Duong

With the theme of "Upholding the volunteer role of young people in building Binh Duong into a smart, civilized and modern city", the 2024 dialogue between Chairman of provincial People's Committee and young people, organized by provincial Department of Home Affairs in coordination with provincial Youth Union yesterday (March 29), attracted the attention of many young people with enthusiastic opinions, contributing youth strength to building up a civilized, prosperous and beautiful Binh Duong.

Upholding the role of youth

The dialogue program was chaired by Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee, in attendance of  leaders of departments and sectors in the province. At the beginning of the dialogue, Mr. Minh said that with exciting and practical activities, over the past time, young people in Binh Duong province have made many contributions to the society, thereby affirming their strong pioneering role, significantly contributing to the successful implementation of political tasks of the local government. Therefore, this year's dialogue program was carried out with the theme of "Upholding the proactive and volunteer role of youth in building up Binh Duong into a smart, civilized and modern city".

Mr. Minh affirmed that youth is one of the direct subjects of the smart city project. Provincial People's Committee has planned to implement many programs related to youth. This is an opportunity and also a challenge for today's youth. Therefore, the local youngsters need to prepare knowledge and skills, clearly demonstrate their proactive and volunteer role in the coming time to participate in programs and projects in the strategy to build a smart city in Binh Duong.

The dialogue took place in a frank atmosphere, with many enthusiastic opinions exchanged, contributing to solving problems and orienting the development of the local youth in the coming time. The local young people boldly shared their thoughts, aspirations and recommendations related to many fields on digital transformation, startup, employment, learning, environment, social welfare...while proposing a number of solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Youth Union's activities and uphold the role of youth in all areas of social life...

Nguyen Phuc Hau, Permanent Vice- Secretary of provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc’s Youth Union shared: "The program has the participation of all sectors and groups of youth in all industries and fields. The local youth had a session to share their thoughts and aspirations related to their professions as well as the local development in the past and in the future, thereby helping them have directions to develop themselves...".

Promoting digital transformation

Directly related to smart city construction is digital transformation. Therefore, at the dialogue, many questions about digital transformation were raised related to careers and volunteer groups carrying out community-based digital transformation. Le Hong Ngoc, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ben Cat High School asked: "In the coming time, what plans and programs will authorities, departments, sectors, and mass organizations have to train digital skills and technology with necessary knowledge and skills in the digital era equipped, but ensuring correspondence with each targeted group? Responding to this issue, Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union informed delegates of the implementation of digital transformation among Youth Union members and youth workers by significant models, namely the "Cashless route" model, competitions for startup ideas related to digital transformation; launched Zalo OA accounts. Provincial Youth Union has also regularly organized training conferences on digital transformation for Youth Union officials, members and youth; built a column on digital transformation with propaganda products on digital transformation carried out throughout; thereby contributing to promoting digital transformation among Youth Union members and youth.

Nguyen Thi Bich Le, Vice-Secretary of the Youth Union of Dau Tieng One-Member Rubber Co.Ltd. asked: "Currently, many countries have been using ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence tool that is causing a global sensation. What policies does the province have to implement these contents and if so, how can people widely use them?...".

Responding to the above issues, representatives of provincial Department of Information and Communications provided a lot of useful information. For example, the province is piloting 4 important virtual assistants, including virtual assistants to support the legislative field, virtual assistants to support law enforcement, virtual assistants to the judiciary and virtual assistants to provide legal support to people. The virtual assistant platform serving people and businesses is deployed on Port 1022, a public service. The virtual assistant platform serving officials, civil servants and public employees is piloted on the IOC Binh Duong application to serve questions and answers on operating data. In the 2024 digital transformation plan, the province has included this task with a target of over 30% of departments, sectors and localities deploying virtual assistants to serve the activities of civil servants and people, with 100% of civil servants trained and disseminated basic digital skills, over 50% of civil servants trained skills in analysis, data exploitation and digital technology...

Further clarifying the issues raised at the dialogue, Chairman of provincial People's Committee requested Youth Unions at all levels to continue maintaining movements and activities, gathering young people to carry out assigned political tasks; raise ideals and pay attention to Party development work, especially in residential areas and business zones. There must be appropriate movements and activities to effectively promote the role of youth in the cause of digital transformation. Mr. Minh noted that the local young people need to prepare good knowledge, skills and clearly demonstrate their volunteer role, in the coming time to participate in programs and projects in building Binh Duong smart city.
