Digital transformation is an inevitable development trend, bringing many opportunities as well as challenges to all-level authorities at all levels. Digital transformation is not only about technological transformation, but more important about thinking. Raising awareness and renewing thinking, especially for leaders, play a very important role.

In recent years, all-level Party committees, authorities, business community and people have paid great attention to infrastructure investment and information technology application to improve the efficiency of direction, administration, management, production and business, enhance the quality of people’s life. Applying information technology, building e-government towards building digital government has made many strong breakthroughs. However, the province’s process of digital transformation has still faced shortcomings when some leaders, officials and employees of agencies, units and businesses are not fully aware of the meaning, importance and urgency of digital transformation. Making digital transformation in such fields as healthcare, education, agriculture, commerce, environment-natural resources, transportation..., is still slow.

Most businesses have not yet paid attention to and approached the application of digital technology and technology platforms to serve digital transformation. Therefore, the province's digital economy development has stopped at a small scale with low value. Human and fund resources for information technology applications and digital transformation are still limited. The fight and prevention of cybercrime, ensuring information safety and network security have still faced many difficulties and challenges...

For digital transformation being successful, first of all, it is necessary to have the participation, drastic and synchronous actions of the whole political system, all-level authorities and sectors. In the immediate future, all-level authorities and sectors need to focus on promoting propaganda and raising awareness of cadres, Party members, business community and people about the urgency of digital transformation. Heads of all-level Party Committees, authorities are directly responsible for the results of digital transformation in their agencies, units and localities.

Currently, the province is focusing on training, fostering and attracting quality information technology human resources, being ready to participate in the digital transformation process; promoting the development of digital technology enterprises; attracting digital technology enterprises to invest in the province; further improving the local information infrastructure system. The province has also built up a smart operating center, creating open data to serve people and businesses, being easily to exploit, access, use, prevent and fight corruption.

For a young city like Tan Uyen city, digital transformation towards a smart city is a challenge, but also a great opportunity. Tan Uyen city converges all the factors to be able to accelerate the process of digital transformation. In particular, the determination of all-level Party committees and authorities, the consensus and response of the people are important factors. The requirements set out in the society on the need for digital transformation to serve industrial production, trade-services, smart village construction, and tourism development will also have a strong impact on the local digital transformation process. It is believed that in the general trend of society, the determination and consensus of the government and people as well as from actual requirements, Tan Uyen city will have stronger breakthroughs in digital transformation in the coming time.
