To uphold youths’ role in spurring rural industrialization and modernization, Binh Duong provincial Youth Union and the local Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have implemented a concerted program for the 2010-2012 period. After nearly one year of cooperation, the program has showed remarkable results in helping rural youths apply and transfer advanced techniques to improve productivity and quality of animal and plant species.

 

Productivity and quality of plant species are improved thanks to science application.

Over years, local economic structure has showed a strong increase in industry and service. The entire province has had over 16,900ha of agriculture land, placing jobs for over 9,100 rural laborers. Local people’s material and spiritual life is improved sharply. A concerted program between Binh Duong provincial Youth Union and the local Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has helped rural youths approach technical advances for agricultural development according to the trend of industrialization and modernization. Besides, the program has trained young human resources for local agricultural development.

The concerted program includes 6 basic contents including legal promulgation, implementation of national criteria on new rural building, technical science application, natural calamity and epidemic control, poverty reduction and commendation for good examples of production and business. Accordingly, the program till 2012 strives to reach at least one goal of new rural criteria at every district and township, develop more 20% technical science bookcases at rural areas, train career for rural youths, build and reinforce agriculture promotion clubs for youths, hold at least 3 training sessions on production model for rural youths and so on.

After roughly one year of conducting the concerted program, rural youths across localities have improved their awareness on technical science. In 2010, local youth union opened over 100 IT classes for 2,740 youths and leaguers, upgraded 7 Internet centers, built 12 locations of scientific knowledge promulgation and Internet accession for youths at 12 cultural post offices.

In addition, local youth unions at grassroot level, counseled and placed jobs for over 9,000 youths, opened 71 vocational training classes for 2,812 youths…

Thanks to the cooperation, rural youths across province have affirmed their role in building and developing new rural area, meeting requirements of market economy.
