Cozy spring for disadvantaged children

On January 9, Binh Duong Provincial Sponsoring Council of Children's Fund held the 16th "Spring with disadvantaged children" program in Binh Duong province. Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Minh Thuy, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Provincial Party Organization Board; Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of Provincial People's Council; and leaders of departments, branches, districts, towns and cities.

Meaningful spring gifts

In 2022, although economic situation in the province faced numerous difficulties due to fluctuations of the global economy, the program "Spring with disadvantaged children" received the attention and support of all government level, the companion of businesses, organizations, and benefactors.

The "Spring with disadvantaged children 2023” was attended by nearly 1,000 children out of a total of 1,800 children living in hardship of social protection establishments, children of districts, towns and cities. The program is to contribute to the implementation of children’s basic rights, and is a gift that provincial leaders, benefactors, and the community offer to children on occasion of Tet holiday.

Receiving gifts from "Spring with disadvantaged children", Nguyen Thi Diem Hong, a student of class 9A4 at Thoi Hoa Junior High School (Ben Cat Town), was so touched and grateful, and promised to try her best to become a teacher to help children.

To Tran Nhat Tien, a student of grade 10.6 at An My High School (Thu Dau Mot City), this was the fifth time he participated in the program and was very excited because he could enjoy many interesting musical performances and at the same time receive spring gifts supplementing Tien's family on Tet holiday. Tien hopes that all disadvantaged students like himself have a happy Tet.

In the warm atmosphere of the approaching national traditional New Year, children enjoyed colorful spring musical performances. At the program, each child received a gift worth VND 400,000 and VND 400,000 in cash. Each gift given is a small swallow that brings spring to disadvantaged children, brings joy, innocent and happy smiles to children, empowering them to overcome difficulties, improve their lives.

The Spring with disadvantaged children program 2023 will give gifts to nearly 1,800 children, with a total cost of VND2 billion 358 million. In addition, 85 orphaned children due to the Covid-19 will continue to receive long-term sponsorship, with a total budget of nearly 1 billion VND/year.

Warm spring love

After 2 years of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2022 the disease was well controlled, social life takes place in new conditions. However, the province's socio-economic situation, as well as provincial businesses, encountered difficulties due to the impact of the global economy.

However, with the national tradition of mutual support and high sense of responsibility, economic organizations and businesses inside and outside the province continue to accompany and support the 2023 program to be organized attentively and completely. The program aids children from poor households, near-poor households, and of workers to joyfully celebrate the traditional Tet holidays.

Provincial leaders give Tet gifts to Covid-19 orphans.

 

In addition to the spring program for disadvantaged children, in recent days, Provincial Children's Sponsor Fund also organized spring journeys to give spring gifts to orphans, disabled and disadvantaged children in Thuan An city, Bau Bang district, Dau Tieng district, children who are learning and nurtured at Provincial Association of the Blind and Pho Hien Orphanage (Bau Bang District). During each journey, the children enjoy special performances of circus, magic, singing, dance...

Trinh Duc Tai, Director of Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the Covid-19 seriously affected all aspects of social life, but the greatest loss is the decease of Covid-19 patients, making many children become orphans.

To implement the Government's guideline of "leaving no one behind" and to support, encourage these orphaned children and for their studies not to be interrupted, Provincial Children's Sponsor Fund is a bridge connecting golden hearts to the less fortunate children, so that their dreams are always nurtured and winged.

The program "Long-term sponsorship of orphans due to Covid-19" has been implemented from September 2021 and has received the attention and support of many benefactors in and outside the province.

Speaking at the program, Nguyen Loc Ha said that the year 2022 has passed, marking 25 years of construction and development of the Provincial Children's Protection Fund with the motto: dedication - transparency - timeliness - involvement. During that time, Sponsoring Council of Provincial Children Fund received the companionship and support of economic organizations, businesses, and individuals with total amount of nearly VND110 billion, supporting more than 100,000 children in many volunteer programs of the fund.

In this program Spring with disadvantaged children 2023, nearly 2,000 children received spring gifts with a total budget of VND2 billion. “Protecting, caring for, and educating children is an important strategy to cultivate and develop humanity. Therefore, I hope that in the coming time, agencies, organizations, business communities and benefactors will continue to support these deeply humane meaningful activities," added Nguyen Loc Ha.
