Cultural heritages, national strength: State President

Update: 02-07-2011 | 00:00:00

State President Nguyen Minh Triet urged cultural heritage associations to bring into play the value of cultural heritages and turn them into national strength.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet on June 30 received delegates of the Thang Long - Ha Noi Cultural Heritage Association on the occasion of its 10th founding anniversary. The association currently has 1,150 members.

He said the association should develop strongly and more substantially to make bigger contributions to preserving and bringing into play the value of cultural heritages in Hanoi in particular and in Vietnam in general.

The association should research and propose the Party and the State policies and measures to protect cultural heritages and promote the public awareness on their values, he added.

The State President asked the association, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and its members to vigorously fight against activities that damage cultural heritages and tradition.
