Dau Tieng steadily advances on way of development

Yesterday (August 20), Dau Tieng district held a ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its re-establishment (August 20, 1999 - August 20, 2024). The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Minh Thuy, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission; Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from provincial departments and Dau Tieng district over periods.

Prominent imprints

Building on its heroic tradition, the Party, government, and people of Dau Tieng district have been united in protecting revolutionary achievements and building up a more and more prosperous homeland. After 25 years of re-establishment, Dau Tieng district has made significant strides, with most annual socio-economic development targets being met and even surpassed. Specifically, the district’s total production value in 2023 increased by 986.68% compared to 2000. Among these, the value of trade and services reached VND 7,861.87 billion, an increase of 7,463.33% compared to 2000; agricultural production value reached VND 5,051.3 billion, up 1,175.49% from 2000.

Under the national target program for new-style rural development, by 2015, Dau Tieng district was recognized as the first one in the province to meet new-style rural standards. The district implemented approved planning projects and completed the public announcement of general planning for new-style rural construction in 11 communes; set up and signed a coordination plan between the district’s People's Committee and Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Ltd.Co. in implementing the national target program for new-style rural construction in the district. Currently, the district has 11 communes that meet advanced new-style standards.

Nguyen Phuong Linh, Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People's Committee stated that by upholding the district's advantage of vast agricultural land, fertile soil and abundant labor resources, the district has encouraged residents to invest in raising and cultivating high-quality and high-yielding plant varieties and animal breeds. Currently, the district is home to 49,462.83 hectares of rubber, 920 hectares of fruit trees and 4,386 hectares of vegetables. The district’s total livestock population is estimated at 217,720, an increase of 1,054.74% compared to 2000 while the poultry population stands at 3.7 million, up 2,533.37% from 2000. And the number of farms has reached 253, an increase of 227 farms (up 973%).

Although being an agricultural district, the Party and government of Dau Tieng have called for investors in and out of the province to invest in production, thereby boosting the economy and creating jobs for local workers. To date, the whole district is home to 637 businesses, an increase of 616 or 3,033% compared to 2000. The average income per capita now stands at VND 80.5 million per year, an increase of 2,515.625% compared to 2000.

In infrastructure development, the district's traffic infrastructure has basically met the needs of socio-economic development. To date, 100% of the roads managed by the district have been covered with asphalt, achieving 100%; and 100% of the roads managed by communes have been hardened with red gravel, with over 44% of them being covered by asphalt or cement. The percentage of households using clean and hygienic water stands at 99.8%, and 100% of households have access to the national electricity grid.

Creating new development momentum

At the ceremony, on behalf of provincial leaders, Nguyen Minh Thuy, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission spoke highly the district's achievements after 25 years of re-establishment. Since the district’s re-establishment, the district’s Party Executive Committee has always identified Party building and rectification as the key task, setting forth appropriate tasks, solutions and working regulations at the beginning of each term.

At the time of re-establishment, the district’s Party had 22 grassroots Party organizations with 737 members. After 25 years of construction and development, the district’s Party Committee now has 45 grassroots Party organizations, an increase of 204.5%, with 4,494 members, an increase of 609.8%. The entire district has promoted a tradition of unity, dynamism and creativity, forming up a combined strength to successfully achieve the socio-economic development goals set out, steadily moving forward on the way of renewal, democracy and prosperity.

The past 25 years have been an opportunity to look back, feel proud and take pride in the great achievements done by the Party and the people of Dau Tieng district while further upholding the tradition of a heroic district under the wise and correct leadership of the district’s Party Executive Committee, along with the spirit of unity, self-reliance, determination of cadres, Party members and people, the effective support of provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and the active, effective contributions in all areas of social life by Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Ltd.Co.

Mrs. Thuy emphasized that the Party and the people of Dau Tieng district must further promote renewal, dynamism and creativity, striving to successfully achieve the goals and tasks set by the district’s Party Committee, building Dau Tieng into a more and more prosperous and civilized homeland. Particularly, the district should focus on sustainable economic development, promoting high-tech agriculture; prioritize the application of science and technology in production, digital transformation in agriculture, farmers and rural areas.

Over the 25 years of re-establishment, Dau Tieng district and the communes of Thanh An, Thanh Tuyen, Minh Thanh, Dinh Hiep, An Lap and Dau Tieng town have been awarded the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces by the State. The district’s Party Committee has consistently been recognized as a strong and pure Party organization. Many individuals and collectives have been honored with prestigious titles by the Party, the State, ministries, provincial Party Committee and provincial People’s Committee. Notably, in 2010, the district was awarded the Third-Class Labor Order by the State President. In 2016, it was awarded the Second-Class Labor Order by the State President. On August 16, 2024, the Prime Minister signed a decision to award the Government’s Emulation Flag to the cadres and people of Dau Tieng district as an outstanding unit in the patriotic emulation movement of Binh Duong province in 2023.
