Along with efforts in upholding geographic advantages and improving all difficulties, Di An town’s Party, government and people have constantly promoted the local industrialization and urbanization process. The town has always maintained economic growth at high level, especially its civilized and modern urban image has got more and more obvious.

After being recognized as a fourth-class city and becoming a town in early 2011, Di An has reached strong changes in urban development. The town’s annual social investment is estimated at VND300bln-VND400bln. The town’s urban infrastructure has got more spacious and modern with 100% of roads under the local government covered by asphalt.

The town’s socio-economic infrastructure has also been corresponding to requirements of the local urban development. In addition, the town has paid attention to investing in the domains of health, education, culture-sports at people’s demand.

Nguyen Van Nghia, Vice-Chairman of Di An town’s People’s Committee said that there has been a good implementation in the field of urban planning and construction. The whole town is now home to 74 urban and residential projects with a total area of 804.52 hectares, basically satisfying demand for accommodation of people, especially immigrants, promoting the local overall urban infrastructure and bringing total housing area herein to nearly 8.63 million square meters with the average level of 22.3 square meters per person.

The town’s State administration on urban aspect, particularly on urban construction and order has also gone to stability. For a civilized and modern city, the town will focus on dealing with difficulties regarding compensation and site clearance, hastening the progress of construction of projects, especially key ones that are underway.

To ensure sustainable and fast urban development, the town will further create advantageous conditions for businesses to alternately foster in urban areas, change their use of workshops and warehouses into the service field that not only helps improve the environment, but also makes a synchronous urban development; build up an urban civilized lifestyle among people.

Also according to Mr.Nghia, participation of authorities and sectors at all levels of the town plus people’s consensus are needed to well realize the set targets. The town’s People’s Committee will also mobilize all sources and take measures in a synchronous way on urban development, construction and management fields towards sustainable and fast development. Particularly, the town will bend on perfecting urban traffic, verdure, water drainage, waste water treatment systems in association with urban planning management, environmental protection towards sustainable development.

With a goal of becoming a second-class urban area and a district of Binh Duong municipality under the central control by 2020, Di An town’s Party, government and people will bring into full play general strength, joining hands to develop the locality into a civilized, prosperous and beautiful urban area.
