President Ho Chi Minh once said: "Culture must light the way for the nation”. With that in mind, culture is the spiritual foundation of society; culture is both a goal, a driving force and an endogenous resource for the socio-economic development process in a sustainable way.
During the revolutionary leading process, the Party has always attached great importance to the position and role of culture in the struggle for national independence, in national construction and development. The way on cultural development has been defined and concretized by the Party and State by many resolutions, conclusions, directives, legal documents... All of them aim to build and develop an advanced culture imbued with national identity and unity in the diversity of the Vietnamese ethnic community. Recently, the Party determined: “Culture must be put equal to economy, politics and society.” Therefore, in the development process, it is necessary to ensure the synchronization, harmony and balance between economy, politics and culture. To develop the economy to ensure the care of the people's material life; building a strong and clean political system in order to build trust and outline the development direction of the country; Cultural development is to take care of folks’ spiritual life, towards the values of truth, goodness and beauty.
In Binh Duong, the industrialization, modernization and urbanization accelerating process in recent years has achieved many great achievements. With outstanding socio-economic development, Binh Duong has become a typical example of the whole country in the renovation process. In parallel with the socio-economic development, spiritual culture is also of special interest to the province. Cultural, artistic, physical training and sports activities are organized with rich and diverse contents and forms, serving political tasks and meeting the people's demand for cultural and spiritual enjoyment. In particular, cultural, sports and relic institutions from the provincial to grassroots levels continue to be interested in construction, renovation and embellishment... This has met the requirements of socio-economic development associated with appropriate cultural development.
However, in the industrialization, modernization and urbanization, especially due to the negative effects of the market mechanism and extensive international integration, the issue of cultural development commensurate with socio-economic development still poses many challenges. Therefore, the concept of "inclusive and comprehensive" development needs to be fully realized. On that basis, there is a mechanism and proper attention and investment in culture, so that culture is always the spiritual foundation of society, both a goal, as well as a driving force for the development process.
