Developing Di An to be worthy of province's gateway city

Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation emphasized this at a working session with Di An city’s Party Standing Committee yesterday morning (April 16) on socio-economic situation, national defense - security, Party and political system building work in the first quarter of 2024, orientations and tasks in the following months. The meeting was also attended by comrade Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; comrade Nguyen Hoang Minh, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of provincial Military Command, along with leaders of relevant departments, sectors and leaders of Di An city.

Further supporting enterprises to restore production

Reporting on the results of implementing a number of key tasks of the city in the first quarter of 2024, Vo Van Hong, Chairman of Di An city’s People's Committee said that in the context of the declining economic situation, city-based enterprises’ business-production activities have faced many difficulties. The city has implemented the direction of provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on implementing tasks and solutions to remove obstacles for production and business activities, helping enterprises gradually restore production and develop. The city’s People's Committee coordinated with the State Bank of Vietnam- Binh Duong Branch to organize a conference to connect banks and enterprises in Di An and Thuan An cities, thereby listening to proposals from wood, footwear and real estate associations while deploying support credit packages to create conditions for enterprises to access capital and preferential policies from banks to help restore production and business activities. The city coordinated with provincial Department of Industry and Trade to orient enterprises to convert their functions from production to commerce - services in accordance with Di An urban planning. Leaders of the city met, worked and supported tens of enterprises to resolve obstacles related to fire prevention and fighting, land, construction, planning and conversion of functions, investment in commercial - service projects, entertainment areas, shortening administrative procedures...

Mr.Hong said that the city’s People's Committee has arranged a reception site for enterprises at the city’s Public Administration Service Center to receive and process information and support enterprises facing difficulties. In addition, leaders of the city’s People's Committee and sectors have arranged time to attend "Entrepreneurs' Coffee" at the Young Entrepreneurs Association branch on Wednesdays, gradually removing some difficulties, helping enterprises recover and develop.

“The city will further direct relevant agencies, departments and the city’s Young Entrepreneurs Association branch to recheck all enterprises outside the local industrial parks, grasp enterprises’ operational situation and their needs in terms of product supply and demand, labor resources, capital...; identify specific, feasible solutions; closely and firmly grasp the practical needs of each enterprise to determine specific tasks and support solutions, especially focus on directing and removing difficulties in the fields of land and planning to create favorable conditions for the real estate market to develop safely, healthily and sustainably, contributing to the local socio-economic development...", Mr. Hong shared.

Mobilize resources for urban rejuvenation

In addition to positive results in implementing tasks in the first quarter of 2024, Vo Van Hong also mentioned the local obstacles. For example, the city’s need for infrastructure investment, urban rejuvenation was huge, but there was the lack of resources. In addition, the process of implementing compensation and site clearance for the belt road 3 project in Ho Chi Minh city and Di An city encountered difficulties in determining the value of infrastructure investment in the resettlement area...

Di An city focuses on mobilizing resources to build a developed city that is worthy of the gateway urban area of ​​the province

From that reality, Di An city proposed the province to consider supporting capital sources for the city to make urban rejuvenation under the policy of provincial Party Committee while requesting provincial People's Committee and relevant sectors to further support the task of handling problems under the recommendations of the city’s People's Committee related to compensation for land of some enterprises relocating rooftop solar power systems and valuation of infrastructure investment rates, asset support policies based on depreciation rates. The city also proposed the province to approve a policy allowing Di An to auction and bid to select investors for a number of land funds such as Noi Hoa market, Thong Nhat market Chau Thoi, kindergarten mountain..., promoting the local economic development.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loi applauded the efforts by the city in implementing tasks from the beginning of the year until now. Many fields on State budget collection, administrative reform, removal of difficulties in compensation and site clearance…reached positive changes. The city also maintained national defense and security; continued achieving many important results in Party and political system building.

Regarding some key tasks in the coming time, Mr.Loi proposed Di An city to continue coordinating closely with the departments, sectors of the province and the Planning Appraisal Council for the overall planning of Di An city in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045 will be approved soon, serving as a basis for proposing investment priorities and mobilizing resources for implementation. In addition, the city needs to deliberate and allocate resources, including the ones from socialization, to carry out urban rejuvenation.

He affirmed that along with Thuan An city, Di An city is the gateway to the province, so urban rejuvenation must be prioritized for investment to create a civilized, modern urban appearance. Regarding investment resources for urban rejuvenation, he suggested that in addition to State capital sources, the city needs to mobilize the participation of people and enterprises in the way that the State and people work together...
