Developing Thu Dau Mot city into a smart, worth-living city

 The Ministry of Construction has held a conference to appraise the adjustment of Thu Dau Mot city general planning until 2040 (with a vision for 2050). The objective of the plan is to gradually improve the infrastructure system connecting the northern sub-region between Thu Dau Mot city and neighboring localities; connection between functional subdivisions of urban areas in a strategic, key, and effective manner.

In terms of urban nature, Thu Dau Mot City is an urban center in the central urban area of Ho Chi Minh City, a class-one urban center, a central urban center of Binh Duong province with the function of a political - economic - cultural - science and technological center... At the same time, it is a traffic hub, a linking center connecting various types of multimodal transport of the northern developed sub-region in the Ho Chi Minh City region.

As one of the areas with an important strategic position in terms of national defense and security in the Southeast region and the whole country. According to the plan, the short-term population size by 2030 will be about 550,000 - 600,000 people; the period to 2040 about 600,000 - 700,000 people; vision for 2050 to be about 700,000 - 800,000 people. The estimated land scale for urban development by 2040 is about 3,600 - 4,200 ha.

At the conference, members of the appraisal council agreed to approve the adjustment of TDM City general planning by 2040 (with a vision for 2050) based on opinions of the council.
