Di An town determines to build a civilized urban area

Over the past 10 years, Di An town has showed remarkable changes, improving local people’s life. However, there are still some problems of environmental pollution, social evils… Therefore, local Party committee and authorities have focused on building a civilized life.

In the end of 2010, Di An town had over 320,000 residents with a population density of about 5,300 people/km2. This is the second largest populous town after Thuan An town. Among 320,000 residents, over 2/3 are immigrants. In reality, population increase and rapid urbanization have created problems such as environmental pollution, social evil, poor infrastructure facility.

Dang Minh Hung, the town chairman, said despite of efforts of environmental protection, the town pollution remains complicated. Besides, with many industrial parks, the town infrastructure facility has yet to keep pace with urbanization.

Nguyen Dinh Chien, a resident in An Binh ward, said the town is in need of measures to perfect infrastructure facility, order security, environmental protection… These challenges have been concerns of local administration and people.

Starting from local residents’ awareness

To implement the town party committee’s resolutions and plans synchronously and effectively, Di An town will focus on investing in key works to change local image. The locality will concentrate on East-West Boulevard, trade centers, high-rise buildings, social houses, My Phuoc – Tan Van route and so on. The projects will create a new image for the town.

In addition, Di An has made efforts to build a civilized lifestyle. This is a difficult task unless there is a determination and hi-unity from local authorities and people.
