Di An town’s Red Cross Society excels at social charity activities

Reportedly. Di An town’s Red Cross Society in 2014 mobilized organizations and individuals to offer help of more than VND370mln to more than 1,070 people with difficult circumstances; gave unexpected support of nearly VND2bln for nearly 11,000 poor people in and out of the province…

The town’s Red Cross Society built 6 “Red Cross” houses and upgraded many other houses with a total expense of more than VND300mln. Especially, under the program of “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims”, the society visited and presented 7,868 gifts worth VND1.9bln to disadvantaged people.

With the above mentioned efforts, 16 collectives and 46 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit by provincial People’s Committee at a conference reviewing the local Red Cross Society’s activities in 2014 just held.
