The annual International Day of Happiness, observed on March 20, serves not only to raise awareness about the significance of happiness in life but also as a reminder to the community of its true meaning. This occasion encourages everyone to engage in acts of love and kindness, thereby contributing to the collective happiness of society.

Numerous significant activities

In celebration of this year's International Day of Happiness, numerous agencies and units within the province have recently organized a variety of engaging and meaningful activities. Notably, in Phu Tan Ward (Thu Dau Mot City), a cooking competition was conducted alongside a "guessing teammates' ideas" contest, themed "Taste of Love." The objective of the contest is to enhance awareness among union members and workers regarding the history, significance, theme, and message of the United Nations pertaining to the International Day of Happiness, thereby contributing to the establishment of prosperous, equitable, progressive, joyful, and sustainable families. This event also serves as an opportunity for families to interact, learn, and share experiences in the pursuit of family happiness.

Officials and members of the Thuan An Women's Union visited Ms. Nguyet at the Provincial Center for Social Protection and Work to present her with gifts

In the cooking competition, the teams vied to create delectable dishes, prioritizing nutrition while showcasing their creativity in presentation to enhance the visual appeal. The "guessing the teammate's thoughts" segment, featuring humorous and inventive responses and performances, further invigorated the atmosphere, leaving everyone feeling joyful and at ease.

Observing Mrs. Nguyet cradling the newly bestowed rose in her hand, surrounded by individuals who express care through inquiries and cheerful conversation, we too experienced the warmth of happiness derived from such simple moments. Both the giver and the recipient share in this joy, embodying the essence of happiness found in the act of sharing and supporting one another. This sentiment encapsulates the message of this year's International Day of Happiness. Each act of kindness and every considerate gesture can foster joy and happiness, benefiting not only the recipient but also the giver.

In Thoi Hoa Ward, the Department of Culture, Science, and Information of Ben Cat City collaborated with various agencies, departments, and organizations to host a discussion on the theme "Happiness for Everyone." The event attracted over 150 participants, including members of the Steering Committee for the movement "All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life," family work representatives, the "Building Happy Families" Club, the "Sustainable Family Development" Club, the "Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence" group, women's associations, neighborhood youth unions, and exemplary cultural households in Thoi Hoa Ward. During the session, Master Le Thanh Nga, a former lecturer at the Vietnam Women's Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, shared insights on the topic "Happiness for Everyone."

Through this activity, delegates acquired valuable experience in fostering joyful families and individual happiness, as well as in the upbringing and education of children. They addressed the issue of domestic violence and explored strategies for its prevention and intervention. Consequently, they can apply these insights to enhance their own well-being, that of their families, and the broader community.

To disseminate joy

“Happiness for All,” the theme of this year’s International Day of Happiness, conveys that happiness is not an exclusive possession of any individual but a universal right shared by all. It arises not solely from personal achievements but also from the capacity to share and foster joy within the surrounding community.

With this objective in mind, the Women's Union of Thuan An City organized the "Loving Meal" program, which aimed to bring simple joy to the isolated individuals at the Provincial Center for Social Protection and Work in An Thanh Ward. During this event, members of the Women's Union and staff collaborated to prepare 200 servings of chicken noodle soup, providing the women with a warm and delightful meal accompanied by heartfelt greetings and encouragement. Additionally, the Women's Union of the city successfully mobilized benefactors to contribute 200 gifts, including handkerchiefs, balm, and flowers, with a total value exceeding 12 million VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Xuan, Vice President of the Women's Union of Thuan An City, stated: "In an effort to share and extend compassion to the individuals at the center, the association has organized this program with the hope that the attendees will feel the warmth of collective love. While the material value of the meal may be modest, the genuine care from everyone and the community will provide them with greater joy and motivation to lead fulfilling lives. This initiative also represents one of the meaningful activities in support of the campaign 'Thuan An Women Behave Civilly, Live with Love,' which the association is currently promoting and implementing throughout the city."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet, 70 years old and residing at this center, shared that she has been orphaned since childhood and lacks family. As she aged and lived independently, local authorities permitted her to come here to enjoy her later years. “Whenever groups visit and share their time with us, I feel a sense of joy. Today, the City Women's Union prepared a delightful meal for everyone; I also received flowers and gifts, which has made me very happy,” Ms. Nguyet remarked.
