Diverse activities on law dissemination among children

To improve children’s knowledge and awareness of the law, provincial Youth Unions at levels have organized many exciting propaganda activities, contributing to bringing the law closer to children.

Saying no to drugs

In response to the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (November 9), provincial Steering Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union project participating in propagandizing drug prevention and control among children in the period of 2022 and 2025, held a theatrical competition learning anti-drug knowledge with the theme of "Binh Duong youth saying no to drugs".

This year's contest absorbed 8 teams from districts, towns and cities in the province. At the contest, Youth Union members used their performing and staging skills to propagandize the Law on Drug Prevention and Control; propagandized messages about the harmful effects and consequences of drug abuse on life and society so that children and people can take preventive measures, thereby contributing to repelling drug evils, ensuring the local social order and safety.

Bui Quoc Khanh in An Tay commune, a contestant from Ben Cat town’s Youth Union shared: "Being played the main role in the skit "Return Day" of Ben Cat unit, I was happy and worried about how to act well and convey a meaningful message to everyone. And the message that our team wants to convey is to improve propaganda and education on the harmful effects of drugs. We need to have an open view and give opportunities for drug addicts after detoxification…"

According to the organization board of the contest, participating in this year's competition, teams made efforts in preparing their competition parts with high quality. Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union, Permanent Deputy Head of provincial Steering Committee for Drug Prevention-Control and Propaganda, Head of the Organization Board of the contest said: "The contest is a meaningful forum to propagandize the law on drug control and prevention among the local Youth Union members and children. Hopefully, the contest will motivate Youth Union officials and members to be proactive to study, having a deeper understanding of legal knowledge; maintain political stance; build a sense of respect for the law in society...".

Effectiveness in propaganda work improved

Determining the importance of law dissemination among Youth Union members, the Steering Committee of the Project has been proactive to build and organize practical programs and activities with many methods through competitions, festivals, books, infographics... posted on social networking sites and the Youth Union's electronic information page; organize mock trials for law dissemination; organized delegations to visit, offer gifts and held talk shows to motivate students at provincial Rehabilitation Center...

Along with provincial-level activities, over the past time, the Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities promoted law dissemination, attracting the participation of a large number of Youth Union members and people. Publications on law dissemination were regularly produced, with creativity, vividness and long-term use values. Propaganda sessions were widely held from schools to lodging facilities, densely populated areas by many forms, including making law dissemination at the meetings of Youth Union branches; equipping legal bookcases at lodging facilities; delivering propaganda leaflets to Youth Union members, young workers, locals...

From these initial results, it can be affirmed that law dissemination has gradually come to life, creating an environment for officials, Youth Union members and children throughout the province to show creativity in this task while well upholding the role and responsibility of youth in the process of building a law-governed socialist state
