Diverse activities to support workers during Tet

In recent days, provincial trade unions at all levels and enterprises have continuously organized activities to support trade unionists, workers and laborers ‘children orphaned due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in line with all-level authorities ‘directive to ensure that "no one is left without Tet”.

Meaningful and humane activities

As Tet approaches, numerous activities, including visiting, offering Tet gifts..., have been organized to bring joy to thousands of workers, under the program of "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" combined with the "Trade Union Tet Market". In addition to giving train, bus and plane tickets for needy workers to return home for Tet with their families, provincial trade unions at all levels have organized meaningful activities such as organizing “banh chung” and “banh tet” (sticky rice cake) making competitions for workers at lodging facilities as well as flower arrangement contests, traditional folk games, providing all trade unionists and workers with a joyful and meaningful Tet.

Notably, the "Tet of Love" program, organized by provincial Labor Union for 100 children orphaned due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has left beautiful memories for children. Ong Thuy Hoang Mai, Vice President of provincial Labor Union shared: "This program is deeply humane, aiming at bringing a warm and love-filled Tet to these advantaged children...".

Through the program, each child received a gift and VND 1.1 million in red envelopes from leaders and donors. Additionally, the organizers arranged for the children to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site where they experienced various activities such as touring Ben Douc Temple, tunnels and enjoying useful experiences at Data the Farm. During the visit to Ben Douc Temple, Saco Travel Company donated each child with a present and lucky money.

Meanwhile, in Di An city, alongside the distribution of thousands of Tet gifts to trade unionists and workers at lodging facilities, the city's Labor Union organized the "Tet Meal" program for 500 trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances who could not return to their hometowns for Tet. At the event, workers enjoyed cultural performances celebrating the Party and spring as well as traditional Tet dishes. Each participant also received a Tet gift worth VND 1 million and Tet greetings from local leaders.

Pham Van Tong, a worker at Mega Step Electronic Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared: "Typically, my family only goes back to our hometown to celebrate Tet once every two years. This year, we’re celebrating Tet in Bind Duong. The “Tet Meal” program feels as warm as being back home. Having spent several years celebrating Tet in Bind Duong, I’ve noticed that trade unions and local authorities always take great care of workers with meaningful activities every year”.

Tet gifts delivered to trade unionists and workers

To support workers with difficult circumstances staying in Bind Duong for Tet, local trade unions have organized delegations to visit and distribute tens of thousands of Tet gifts to workers. Through programs such as "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" and "Sharing Love", Thu Dau Mot City’s Labor Union presented 400 Tet gift packages to trade unionists, workers and awarded 50 scholarships to underprivileged workers’ children with good academic results, encouraging them. The program also provided additional gifts to workers suffering from serious illnesses, workplace accidents and those with especially difficult circumstances.

In North Tan Uyen district, the district's Labor Union organized a “Giving gifts to connect with love" program for workers facing difficulties. In collaboration with the district’s People's Committee, they distributed 1,800 gift packages worth VND1million to workers…

In recent days, local authorities at all levels have collaborated with businesses to organize various activities to care for and support workers staying in the province for Tet. In quarters, communes and wards, gifts have been distributed to needy workers at lodging facilities. Hundreds of "Zero-dong markets" have been set up to provide essential goods to workers. Proprietors have also contributed by reducing rent for the Tet month, giving Tet gifts and hosting year-end gatherings for their tenants.

Le Ngoc Loi, a proprietor in Phi Hoa ward’s quarter 2 in Thu Dau Mot city shared: “Every year, my family reduces the Tet month’s rent by 40% for tenants. For those staying during Tet, we invite them to join our family for a year-end meal and give each of them a Tet gift. It’s a gesture of love, sharing and humanity during the traditional Tet festival”. The activities organized by trade unions in collaboration with businesses and local authorities to care for trade unionists, workers and their children on Tet are deeply meaningful. These efforts help foster a stronger bond between workers and Binh Duong, helping employees become more attached to Binh Duong.

In addition to Tet gifts and year-end parties that bring everyone together after a year of hard work, many organizations have also hosted meaningful activities such as organizing “banh chung” and “banh tet” (sticky rice cake) making contests, Tet-themed decorations, arranging bus trips for workers to return home for Tet. For example, Rockdale Spears Co., Ltd. in Thuan An city organized the 2025 "Trade Union Tet Market" at its facility, featuring 12 stalls offering essential goods at discounted prices for workers to shop for Tet. During the market, the company also set up a "zero-dong booth", providing 100 gift packages to support workers facing hardships. Additionally, the company presented special gifts to employees who have been with the business for many years.
