Diversity of grassroots activities organized in response to All People's Day Against Drugs (June 26)

According to the plan for the peak period of drug crime prevention and control in the province, in June 2023, agencies that are members of provincial Steering Committee 138 have simultaneously launched campaigns to gradually improve people’s awareness of drug laws, push back drugs out of the population community.

Lieutenant Colonel Lam Hong Vu, Chief of Police of Bau Bang district, said that in parallel with professional work, local police have increased patrols and control as well as propagate drug prevention and control among young people, especially workers. "This work has been done quite well by the local police, but during the peak month, special attention is paid to reducing the number of drug addicts in the area," said Senior Lieutenant Colonel Lam Hong Vu. 

This year, in response to All People's Day Against Drugs, agencies, departments, and localities have carried out many activities and attracted a large number of participants. Information and communication work focus on the consequences and harms of drugs, especially synthetic drugs; methods and tricks of drug crimes. Propagation turns towards the grassroots; focuses on key and complicated areas related to drugs; especially among students. Strengthen the application of information technology and social networks in propagation activities.

Meanwhile, with its role, provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs strengthened information on the harmful effects of drugs, post-detoxification management, especially at drug addiction treatment facilities and other vocational training establishments; organize the building, consolidation, and replication of effective models of drug addiction treatment and community reintegration after detoxification; instruct localities to organize voluntary drug detoxification at home. At the same time, to take the lead in advising and proposing Provincial People's Committee to support job creation, lending loans for production and business to people after detoxification in the area.

Also in the activities during this peak month of anti-drug, Provincial Labor Confederation organizes propagation among workers in industrial zones and clusters. Pay attention to drug inspection in lodging houses and hotels

According to the assessment of Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04) of Provincial Police, along with the socio-economic development, the number of business establishments subject to security and order conditions is increasing; These establishments employ mostly young people. A part of these young employees are lured by bad guys into using drugs, abetting criminals in buying, selling, organizing, harboring illegally using drugs in conditional business establishments. Some criminals take advantage of bordering areas to rent lodging rooms, motels, hotels, houses for rent but do not register for residence to do drug crimes...

Due to the above characteristics, drug crime and drug abuse in Binh Duong province in recent years has been complicated. The tricks of these criminals are increasingly sophisticated, cunning and violent, drug crimes are still the source of all kinds of criminal cases. However, with the determination not to let crime and drug evils cause frustration among the people, Party Committee - Directorate of Provincial Police Department directed police forces investigating drug-related crimes to actively update the situation, set out appropriate tasks and solutions in the immediate and long term for each line and each locality; classify criminals in order to effectively prevent and stop drug-related crimes.

In parallel with the prevention work, the drug crime investigating police force has strived to follow their area, update the situation, synchronously apply professional measures to quickly detect, eradicate drug-related criminal activities, prevent a prolonged backlog that causes frustration among the people. Thereby, many cases were detected and eliminated, including many criminal lines and gangs that were successfully dismantled by the provincial police.

During this year's peak month of drug crime prevention and control, the provincial police force continued to identify key tasks to achieve the set targets. In the professional prevention work, the drug-related crime investigation force continued to compile dossiers to bring drug addicts into management; synchronously apply measures for good management of geographical areas and subjects; proactively detect and eliminate drug points and dens, drug lines in the locality. Focus on reviewing and fighting against those who take advantage of conditional business establishments, such as bars, karaoke, discos, hotels etc. to conduct drug-related crimes. Strengthen coordination with Drug Crime Investigation Bureau and the local police in dismantling transnational drug lines, drug criminals with foreign elements taking advantage of Binh Duong province to operate.
