Donating blood to save people

The whole country needs around 1.7 blood units for patients every year. In fact, approximately 800,000 units are provided to hospitals, which has not yet met 50% of the health sector's needs.

In Binh Duong, the need of blood at hospitals has also been increasing while the number of blood donors is still low.

Regarding this issue, Mrs.Lien said that provincial Steering Board for VBD has just set the targets of raising the number of blood units collected annually to at least 10%, maintaining 100% of the number of blood donors; increasing the ratio of population giving blood to 0.65%-0.80%...

To realize the above targets, provincial Steer Board for VBD will pay attention to the training work on knowledge of VBD, blood transfusion safety…for those who are in charged of VBD and volunteers; speed up dissemination of information about VBD among all walks of life; mobilize at least 20% of officials and civil servants to take part in VBD…
