"Donating drops of blood - Sharing life" receives 347 units of blood

On February 19, a voluntary blood donation program with the theme of "Donating drops of blood - Sharing life" at Aeon Mall Binh Duong. The program was organized by Thuan An city’s Red Cross Society in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh city-based Cho Ray Hospital’s Blood Transfusion - Hematology Center.

This was an activity of practical significance, with each drop of blood donated from a donor that will contribute to increasing the chances of life for critically ill patients. From the meaning of blood donation and propaganda work of the local Red Cross Societies at all levels, the program attracted a large number of supermarket employees and locals to register for participation. Through health screening, the Organizing Board of the program received 347 blood units, equivalent to 121,450milliters of blood. Each participant was given a gift worth VND 180,000 and VND 50,000 in cash.

Currently, district-level Red Cross Societies are considering to honor and reward voluntary blood donors 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70 and 100 times. For those who are eligible, but have not been honored, they only need to photocopy their certificates of blood donation and then send them together with their information, addresses and phone numbers to district-level Red Cross Societies where they live or work to be considered for honoring under the regulations.
