The East-West main road project was approved in 2018, with its starting intersection connecting to National Highway 1A and its ending intersection connecting to National Highway 1K. The construction of the project has been completed. However, the final 50-meter segment connecting to Hanoi Highway has not yet been implemented, so the East-West main road has not been fully opened or connected to Hanoi Highway.
The final 50-meter segment connecting to Hanoi Highway is expected to be completed by December 2024
According to the People's Committee of Di An City, as planned, the expanded Hanoi Highway project was invested by Ho Chi Minh City to the East-West main road section with Di An city as the investor of the project that has been completed. However, the final 50-meter connecting segment has not yet been implemented. Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh city have agreed that Binh Duong province will continue the investment to complete the remaining 50 meters. Recently, provincial People's Committee has assigned Di An city People's Committee to complete this final connection. Vo Trong Tai, Vice Chairman of Di An city’s People's Committee stated that the city is currently establishing land compensation price units. Once these price units are finalized, the city will proceed with land compensation for 31 affected cases, covering a total of 13,780 square meters of land that needs to be acquired as part of the Hanoi Highway expansion.
It is known that the final segment connecting to Hanoi Highway has total investment of approximately VND 100 billion. Di An city plans to complete this segment by December 2024, thereby fully opening the East-West main road, connecting from National Highway 1A to Hanoi Highway. The East-West main road project was constructed with the goal of connecting National Highway 1A and National Highway 1K, aiming at completing the area's traffic network. The project has total investment of over VND 729 billion after being adjusted.
