Economic growth owing to proper guidelines

Phu Tan, Hoa Phu (TDM City) are two wards established on 1-1-2010. Party Committees of the two wards have early oriented economic structure towards industry – commerce – services, which has been the right direction being consistent with local overall development. Therefore, the people have implemented unanimously and achieved good results. 

Appropriate economic restructure

Previous rural areas in Phu Tan, Hoa Phu ward are now broad asphalted roads, electric lights on both sides of roads, emergence of various services… Hoa Phu ward Party Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang said, in the past, here was an agricultural area, people's lives were so difficult. Since ward’s establishment, according to the Party’s guidelines, urbanization has occurred; economic structure has been shifted towards industry – commerce – services, facilitating local economic development.

In particular, thanks to attention and leadership of TDM City Party Committee and People’s Committee, Hoa Phu ward Party Committee has implemented economic restructuring in accordance with Ward Party Congress Resolution (tenure 2010 – 2015).

Switching to trade and services, lives of many families in Phu Tan, Hoa Phu ward have been improved.

Phu Tan ward was merged from an area of Phu My ward (TDM City) and Phu Chanh, Tan Hiep, Tan Vinh Hiep commune (the ex-Tan Uyen district). Phu Tan ward Party Secretary said, previously, local people lived by agricultural production. After new ward’s establishment and economic restructuring, local per capita income has increased by nearly VND40 million in 2015, which is 25% higher than target set by Ward Party Congress Resolution (tenure 2010 – 2015). Local Party also encouraged inhabitants to develop lodging houses, small services, and home craft.  

Per capita income increasing rapidly

Implementing economic restructuring towards industry – commerce – services, in 5 years (2010-2015), people's lives in Phu Tan, Hoa Phu ward have been improved.  Per capita income of Hoa Phu ward in 2015 2015 was estimated at VND36 million, reaching 100% target; commercial and service revenue was estimated at VND286 billion in 2015. The whole ward has 878 home-based businesses, 144 companies, employing about 17,650 labors.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan living in quarter 1, Hoa Phu ward said: “Previously, I grew rubber trees. Since new renovation, my agricultural land was converted into urban land. My family decided to build 70 lodging rooms and open a grocery to satisfy accommodation demand of local people and workers as well as increasing family’s income”. At the present, the average monthly residual income of his family is about VND50 million. He said, believing in the Party’s guidelines, the people here have switched into to services and businesses. As a result, people’s income has increased. 

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, urban development has affected strongly structure and industries. In addition, local industrial parks has made significant contributions to ward economic growth. This achievement came from the consensus among the Party, government and people of Hoa Phu ward.

At Phu Tan ward, there are now 100 active companies having total investment of VND43,882 billion, with an increase of 31 companies compared with 2010. Regarding trading and services, the ward has 17 companies having total investment of VND51 billion, with an increase of 13 companies compared with 2010; 210 household businesses of catering and lodging having total revenue of nearly VND9 billion in 2014, with an increase of 123 businesses compared with 2010.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lai living in quarter 1, Phu Tan ward said excitedly: “Previously, my family had unstable income from farming. In 2010, I was granted this land for resettlement; my family opened a small catering service. Currently, my family has a stable monthly income of VND7 million”.

Mr. Doan Thanh Danh said, in the future, Phu Tan ward Party Committee will continue to direct the economic shift; assist local businesses in facility construction and operation; simultaneously, create favorable conditions for households to develop services and trade.

Industry – commerce – services enhancing on track in Phu Tan, Hoa Phu ward is the result of TDM City Party Committee’s correct guidelines, thereby, contributing positively to the city’s and provincial economic development.
