On June 14, People's Committee of Binh Duong province held a meeting of Steering Committee for Fire Protection and Rescue to assess the current situation and results of firefighting and rescue work in the province and to hold the preliminary summary of five-year implementation of the Government's Decree No. 83/2017/ND-CP dated July 18th 2017 on rescue work of firefighting forces. Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over the conference.
The dissemination and implementation of guidelines and directions of the Party, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security on fire prevention fighting and rescue was directed by provincial leaders and the Steering Committee seriously and promptly; many documents were issued to synchronously implement fire safety measures in the area.
In addition, the provincial leaders and the Steering Committee gave directives to grasp the actual situation to analyze, evaluate and take specific measures to handle inadequacies of fire safety for key establishments and areas having fire and explosion risks. Namely, the province issued a treatment plan for establishments in the province that were put into operation before the 2001 Fire Protection Law, the plan for handling violating establishments; resolutely handled fire safety violations...
From December 15th 2020 to May 15th 2022, there were 32 fires in the province. Of these, 23 fires occurred at domestically invested enterprises, 9 cases at foreign-invested enterprises; there were 4 fires within industrial parks, 28 fires occurred outside industrial parks; 15 fires during daytime, 17 fires at night.
Speaking at the meeting, Mai Hung Dung asked People's Committee of Tan Uyen Town, Ben Cat District, Thuan An City, Di An City, in addition to the implementation of common tasks and solutions for fire prevention fighting in the area, must focus on developing specific plans to direct and strictly handle operating establishments in the area that do not have approved designs and acceptance of fire safety; strictly handle violations. He also asked localities to suspend operations of facilities having fire and explosion dangers and violating fire safety regulations.
