Efforts of woodwork enterprises made to stabilize production and business

 Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of sectors and departments had a working session with Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA). Up to date, Binh Duong Province has attracted 537 domestic and foreign enterprises working on furniture production and woodwork processing. In the first 6 months oF the year those enterprises have exported furniture accounted for USD$629 million or 4.3% higher than 2010.

 

At the working session, BIFA informed that some domestic woodwork enterprises are facing too high bank interest rates which promoted higher input materials. BIFA also proposed matters of low labor capacity due to weak training and stressed on the needs of social welfare housing as well as other costs.

 

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem highly appreciated efforts in production and business of woodwork enterprises while informing that the province has been working on better vocational schools and encouragement of social welfare housing for workers.
