Tan Uyen district Elderly People Society in the past year launched work of care for the local elderly actively. Specifically, the society’s branches paid gift visits to 1,620 sick members and granted 1,781 gifts to members with the total value of VND235mil, mobilized donors to offer free health check up and medicines to 1,222 old people as well as offered free eye surgeries for 99 others.

In the past year, the society admitted 514 more members. The entire province has so far has 22 grassroot executive boards and 124 sub-societies with 1,313 members.

Overall, most of the elderly in this district continue dedicating their ability to the locality. The locality has had 163 elderly people who are farm owners and 208 others are business workshops’ proprietors.
