Electronic tax payment to bring convenience

Recently, electronic tax payment has been implemented widely by General Department of Taxation in collaboration with commercial banks among business customers. Many companies implementing this service commented that the electronic tax payment had many advantages and saved costs.

Companies to be encouraged

BIDV Insurance Company was one of first companies employing electronic tax payment in the province. Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Tien, Chief Accountant of the company, said: “Previously, we had to go to banks or treasury to pay tax. Now, everything is much simpler. Our bank account was connected to the bank, so tax payment is easily. We do not have to wait, travel with large amounts of cash to pay tax, we are also able to conduct tax payment transactions at any time of day”.

Ms. Tien said, tax payment is not limited in terms of space and time, helping the business to save travel cost, time, and easily monitor tax payment results. Besides, company can use other value added services of the bank.

Having the same opinion, Ms. Do Thi Thu Phuong, accountant of Vietnam Woodpart Funiture Co., said, electronic tax payment via banking services has helped businesses a lot. For example, previously, to fulfill debt-clearing procedures, tax refund, VAT declaration..., companies had to come to provincial Tax Department. Now, all are able to be completed via internet. If companies want to use banking services, companies only have to provide information of payable tax amount, then the bank will automatically deduct money from business account to the state budget, the transaction result will be sent immediately to business.

Banks respond enthusiastically

Mr. Tran Ngoc Linh, Director of BIDV – Binh Duong branch, said, electronic tax payment has brought benefits to not only taxpayers but also banks. Banks can save time, costs of printing when conducting transactions with customers. At BIDV - Binh Duong branch, since early this year, customers employing this service made up more than 50% total business customers.

A representative of HD Bank said, the bank has implemented budget collection for provincial customs and taxation to increase utilities for customers of HD Bank. After over a year, HD Bank performed nearly 11,000 transactions, achieved nearly VND22.000 billion in revenue.

A representative of Sacombank said, the bank cooperated with General Department of Taxation to set up an online portal for electronic tax payment across the system. Until now, nearly 5,700 customers registered for this service at Sacombank. Tax revenue collected from this service reached VND3.800 billion.

Banks said, to meet business’ need of electronic tax payment, banks will continue to invest in comprehensive technological infrastructure, personnel, and propaganda. All are for fulfilling effectively financial institutions’ role as a partner of businesses.
