Emotional music show depicting a sentimental Binh Duong

Binh Duong provincial Association of Literature and Arts has just coordinated with Binh Duong provincial Sub-Association of Music to organize the ‘Binh Duong – Ben goi yeu thuong’ (Binh Duong, the loving call) music show. The sophisticated performances at the show have actually brought audience through various musical levels of emotion to better understand the talented musician of Binh Duong, Nguyen Hong.

A talented musician

Leaving the Saigon University of Literature before 1975, the young Nguyen Hong, born in 1942, with a talent and burning passion for music continued to study and graduated from the Hue National School of Music and Drama. After the unification of the country, and due to living circumstances, musician Nguyen Hong came to and worked in Dong Nai province as a rubber worker on Ong Que plantation. Before the lively public art atmosphere at that time, musician Nguyen Hong did not stop working on the plantation but also actively participated in the performing team of the plantation and the company.

Having the music knowledge and chances of living and working closely in reality with rubber workers, musician Nguyen Hong clearly saw throught the labor value and good qualities of workers in the era of national construction and development. Thereon, he has composed many songs praising the profession for the performance of Ong Que Plantation's art performing team in particular and the rubber workers in general. Many songs have been sung by rubber workers to praise the hard work, achievements, the and solidarity of the unit in a friendly, close and proud way. It can be said that the epic poem by musician Nguyen Hong entitled "Cong nhan Dong Nai tron doi theo Dang" (workers in Dong Nai commit to lifetime following the CPV) received a special award in a musical performance of the General Department of Rubber of Vietnam in 1983.

From 1989 to 2003, musician Nguyen Hong returned to his profession as a music teacher at the Children's House Arts Education Department in Dong Nai province. In the working environment, musician Nguyen Hong received a certificate of merit for the educational career of the Central Youth Union.

Throughout his time teaching and composing music so far, despite his advanced age, musician Nguyen Hong is still healthy and working hard on the career path he had chosen. For a long time, he has opened classes to teach music theory and musical instrument performance at his own facility and devoted all his heart and emotions into songwriting, especially those about his hometown of Binh Duong. Many compositions of Nguyen Hong have been published on newspapers and radios in many parts of the country.

From emotions with love

In the program introducing works and career of musician Nguyen Hong, 12 self-selected songs and by the provincial Literature and Arts Association were divided into two parts of "Binh Duong homeland" and "Mother and the love for the motherland".

The gentle, inspirational melodies that are easy to get into people's hearts in part one left us a very personal feeling about Nguyen Hong's music. The lyrics in the song of "Ve Binh Duong" (getting back to Binh Duong) by musician Nguyen Hong have contributed to promoting the land and people of Binh Duong with very attractive words.

Currently, musician Nguyen Hong is living in Di An city. Thus, it is easy to understand why he gave all his love for the beloved land when he and everyone received the good news that Di An has become a city of Binh Duong province. And at times, the musician also considers Binh Duong as the calling for love. Therefore, in the other songs, music lovers easily feel the melodies filled with love, romantic lyricism.

According to musician Nguyen Long, Nguyen Hong's music is his own without overlapping with anyone else's. His songs are ofuniform and aesthetics. “We have the feeling that musician Nguyen Hong composes easily by experiencing the very real feelings with passion for his homeland Binh Duong, love for a mother, love for a couple and love for life. That's why the mood of each song is thought to be the personal feeling of musician Nguyen Hong, which is a very common emotion with those who have listened to his music," asserted musician Nguyen Long.
