Reporting to the provincial delegation on the performance of EIU in recent years, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, Rector of EIU, said that the university was born with the mission of training high-quality human resources to effectively meet the urgent requirements for sustainable socio-economic development in Binh Duong; at the same time, is oriented to become a center for scientific research, technology application and transfer, as a driving force for socio-economic development for the Southern Key Economic Zone and the whole country.

According to Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, Becamex IDC in general and EIU in particular has been pioneers in building an innovation ecosystem, modern start-up, approaching industrial transformation 4.0. On that foundation, EIU was invested and established to perfect the Becamex ecosystem in its long-term development strategy. EIU has specific solutions, which is to form a secondary ecosystem right in the school, including units that are closely related to each other such as: Fablab Manufacturing Experiment Center, Becamex Business Incubator, Aspire Company... to contribute to promoting, attracting and supporting the startup community in Binh Duong through many specific activities. In particular, the Industrial Innovation Center 4.0 can be mentioned to support the transformation of labor-intensive production models into production forms using knowledge and automation; contributing to the development of added value for the province and surrounding areas.

Besides, in 2022, Becamex IDC and EIU built the Advanced Manufacturing Center - AMC. The center plays an important role in providing diverse machining solutions, supporting design calculations and measurements, and ensuring quality. These are very important steps affirming the perfection of the creative ecosystem at EIU; thereby directly contributing to training, providing high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of enterprises; at the same time to attract human resources with high gray matter content to the province; promote innovation, support start-ups; transfer knowledge and technology to create new values, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Focus on research, transfer and application

As the university invested by the province's leading enterprise, EIU is currently focusing on training human resources in necessary fields according to the local development orientations, such as business administration, engineering, information technology, nursing... Over the years, in parallel with promoting quality assurance activities, EIU has always been interested in scientific research and signed cooperation agreements with many partners from developed countries, such as the US, Singapore, and Korea. China, Japan..., and connecting with more than 280 domestic and foreign enterprises, serving teaching and learning activities. This has yielded significant results year after year.

According to Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, 100% EIU students reach at least IELTS 6.0 when they graduate; 91% students have jobs after graduation, of which more than 50% work for foreign joint venture companies and are appreciated for their professional knowledge, ability to use foreign languages and dynamic working style, creativeness, quickly adapt to the actual working environment. In the future, in order to serve the development needs of business community in particular and Binh Duong province in general, the school also plans to open new training disciplines, such as economics, electronics and telecommunications, computer science... especially health sciences.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Van Loi highly appreciated the efforts of leaders and lecturers of EIU, especially keep pace with the innovation trend of the world. The Provincial Party Secretary said that EIU was on the right track in training high-quality human resources, in innovation and in connecting three houses (State, schools, and enterprises). He also wishes that EIU and universities in the province must be innovation centers, connection centers of three houses. In addition, EIU must constantly improve training quality, focus on training in natural sciences and highly applicable fields.

Nguyen Van Loi also wanted EIU and universities to support businesses in implementing 4.0 technology transformation, because currently 90% of enterprises in the province are small and medium-sized enterprises, which are facing many challenges and difficulties when they want to do the digital transformation. "Not in theory, but to become reality, produce real products...", the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.

Previously, Nguyen Van Loi and the provincial delegation visited and learned about the 4.0 technology transformation at Takako Vietnam Co., Ltd (VSIP 1). This is one of the leading enterprises in applying 4.0 technology and has brought good efficiency in production as well as management and administration activities. A representative of the company said that many years ago, the company started to convert technology on the old machine platform to develop automation to improve labor productivity and product quality. Nguyen Van Loi wants the company to share the experience of 4.0 technology transformation so that relevant units of the province can guide and help other businesses to carry out technology transformation as well as spread this spirit among many businesses in the province…
