Enterprises in response to power cut

Enterprises are finding ways out of the burden caused by power cut every 1 or 2 days per day so as to maintain manufacturing.

Every 1 or two days, Binh Duong EVN schedules to cut power to ensure safety of network operation in the face of severe power shortage nation wide. As the matter of fact, enterprises will face 4 to 8 days power off or at least 16 workings hours per week.

“Nam Kim Steel JSC is specialized in color and zince coating tole which requires constant operation of the assembly. The power cut will force production lines to restart which is a costly process. This will prompt the product price to increase in a sense that raw materials in balance with products produced. Besides, the company has to pay over 250 workers” said General Director Ho Minh Quang.

Meanwhile, General Director Vu Nga of Hoa Hiep Textile Compay in Binh An, Di An Town conforming the same situation of power cut when the company is embarassed to arrange production schedule.

As the estimation of difficult times of power supply for production and live hood is becoming real, companies are to find adaptive solutions to stabilize production and following up of purchase orders. Extra shifts are implemented as short-term solution together with lean working practice. Nam Kim Steel JSC is building a new top steel factory at the cost of VND 600 billion. Upon operation, the new factory is expected to produce 400.000 tons pera year by a power saving line.
