Update: 09-07-2021 | 15:55:43

Carrying out the "dual duty" of both production and organization of Covid-19 prevention and control, up to now, 48 enterprises in the province have completed the preparation of facilities and arrangement of food for employees to stay and work. In addition, a number of small businesses without trade unions have also joined in with the same actions.

Workers of Earth Corporation Vietnam Co. Ltd. are offered thorough care on working

7,000 workers stay at the factories

Of these 48 enterprises, nearly 7,000 employees came to stay and work at the factories. Some large enterprises such as Foster Electronics Company and Lam Viet Joint Stock Company accommodation has been prepared for 700 workers at the same time. Enterprises continue to mobilize workers to work on the spot, not to go home to avoid spreading the disease. When workers stay at the factories, businesses provide 3-4 meals a day, distribute necessary necessities and offer additional allowances, on average from VND 1 to 3 million a person a month.

For example, Earth Corporation Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park of Tan Uyen town gave workers VND 5.5 million a person per 3 weeks while staying at the company. In addition to providing blankets, pillows and other necessities, the company has purchased many washing machines to serve the laundry as well as many necessities just like at home. Ms. Phan Thi Phuong Linh, Director of Human Resources Administration, said that the company will ensure the regimes for workers until the epidemic is over to ensure the good implementation of the current policy of disease prevention and control of the company. In addition, there are a number of other businesses that also perform well the same such as Therm - XSystem Vietnam Technology Co. Ltd. in VSIP I Industrial Park of Thuan An city, offering allowance for employees at VND 2 million a person a month; Binh Thanh Acacia Chemical Company Limited at Binh Chuan Ward of Thuan An city is currently arranging for 439 employees to stay and work at the company with an allowance of VND 3 million a person a month.

In the current stage when the Covid-19 epidemic shows signs of spreading quickly into factories and industrial parks, it is extremely necessary and meaningful for enterprises to arrange workers to stay in factories. The provincial Trade Union is maintaining coordination with local trade unions at all levels to mobilize business owners to let workers stay in the factories to work as the assurance of disease prevention and control and income. However, on organizing workers to stay and work at the factory, enterprises must ensure places to eat and sleep, medical conditions and necessary necessities.

Sense of responsibility to overcome the pandemic

Mr. Tran Trung, Head of Human Resources Department of Dai Hong Phat Trading - Service Co. Ltd. in Thuan An city said that the company has has arranged accommodation for all 170 workers to stay while preventing and combating diseases and ensuring production. Because the company's orders are quite large, right after the outbreak of the disease, the company has arranged for workers to stay to ensure that production is not interrupted because of the Covid-19 epidemic. “However, about 40 workers who are unable to stay due to family reasons. The company has decided to temporarily let them leave; when the situation stabilizes, they will return to normal work. Although the company is also short of human resources, it is forced to use this measure to ensure the safety of all employees of the company," Trung said.

Being responsible for the company and understandable of the danger of the epidemic, many workers have chosen appropriate disease prevention and control plans. Mr. Nguyen Tan Huy, a worker at Dai Hong Phat Trading - Service Co. Ltd. said: "Because I'm busy taking care of my small children, my wife is also very busy with work, I can't go to the factory to stay and work with my co-workers, so I chose to take a temporary leave. Now that the disease is spreading quickly, I have to make a decision soon, I can't let the epidemic enter the business to affect the company's production as well as the lives of other workers."

As of July 7, the Covid-19 epidemic has affected 361 businesses across the province, making 30,673 workers affected in terms of employment and income. Currently, the provincial Trade Union is making statistics of the number of workers affected by the epidemic to take care of them in time.
