Enterprises "race" to recruit workers at the end of the year

Update: 08-10-2024 | 12:43:18

In order to meet the demand for manufacturing activities in the last months of the year, many enterprises are announcing large-scale recruitment of workers. However, it is very difficult to find quality human resources. Some businesses directly go to many provinces and cities to announce recruitment or assign workers from factories outside the province to "support" Binh Duong.

The Provincial Employment Service Center posts recruitment information, expanding job opportunities for workers inside and outside the province at the end of the year.

Lower requirements to make it easier for recruitment

Recently, the garment, footwear, and electronics industries have experienced stable production and business situations with an influx of new orders. In particular, the last months of the year are the period when enterprises speed up to complete orders signed with partners, so there is a great need for skilled and unskilled workers. If in the first months of 2024 most enterprises recruited workers aged 40 and under, now they are accepting workers up to 45 years old, but it is still difficult to find enough human resources.

For example, Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Di An City) is recruiting 700-1,000 unskilled workers. Mr. Mai Phu Hung, Vice Chairman of the company's grassroots trade union, said that if including the factory in My Phuoc, the company needs 1,200-1,500 unskilled workers. With good salary and benefits, but there are no workers to recruit. To meet production needs, the company has increased the average age of unskilled workers from 40 to 45 years old in order to ensure an adequate supply of human resources. Along with that, the company cooperates with Employment Service Centers in and outside the province to recruit directly at enterprises to find workers.

In addition, Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. also gives priority to rehiring previously laid-off employees. Each employee who refers a new hire will receive 750,000 VND after 2 months of employment. Mr. Mai Phu Hung said: “During the current labor shortage in the last months of the year, the company has flexibly transferred workers from the factory in the West to Binh Duong to work to meet production needs, even though it has to spend a lot of money on accommodation and travel for the transferred workers...”.

Need tens of thousands of workers

According to statistics from the Provincial Employment Service Center, since the beginning of the year, more than 3,200 enterprises have recruited more than 41,000 workers in the area; of which more than 5,000 are skilled workers. From now until the end of the year, enterprises need to recruit more than 20,000 workers. To ensure that businesses have an adequate workforce to meet production demands, the center has announced information about job opportunities at businesses for individuals receiving unemployment benefits.

Similarly, PungKook SaiGon III Factory (Thuan An City) is also announcing the recruitment of 1,000 skilled garment workers and unskilled laborers. Employees can submit job applications every day at the company. Unskilled workers will be trained by the company, supported with many benefits, plus a safe and friendly working environment. Recruitment is to meet year-end production activities and expand factory production.

According to recruitment information from PungKook SaiGon III Factory, the monthly income of employees after signing a contract is from 9.5 million VND or more. In addition to the salary, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance regimes as prescribed, employees also enjoy many benefits such as annual salary increases; and 25% of basic salary on holidays. Recently, the company awarded each employee an average of 2.1 million VND on the occasion of National Day, September 2. On other large holidays and Tet, workers also receive gifts.

Meanwhile, Ms. Luu Tinh Uyen, HR officer of Esprinta Company Limited (Di An City), said that from now until the end of 2024, the company's export orders are quite stable. The company is in need of about 250 workers in sewing lines, equipment development staff, line technicians and human resource staff. In addition to skilled workers, the company also hires unskilled workers who can only read and write. After a 2-month probationary period and contract signing, the employee's income is guaranteed to be 10 million VND or more. The company will provide vocational training for unskilled workers.

Strengthen labor recruitment channel links

The number of enterprises recruiting from 50-200 workers is increasing to have enough workers for year-end orders. The Provincial Employment Service Center is actively engaging with businesses and sharing recruitment information with workers inside and outside the province. Compared to previous months, the number of enterprises in need of unskilled workers is currently increasing.

Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, stated that the department has been working to address both the labor needs of enterprises and the job search requirements of employees. To achieve this, they have directed the Provincial Employment Service Center to organize numerous job fairs, increase the dissemination of information about job fairs and schedules to enterprises and employees in the province, post information on the website, Zalo OA, Facebook, hang banners on streets, provide direct consultation, and inform the Employment Service Centers of other provinces about the job fair schedule to facilitate prompt connections and ensure the highest efficiency.

Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that in order to have a large source of labor, the Binh Duong Provincial Employment Service Center continues to cooperate with some southwestern provinces, such as Tra Vinh, Ca Mau, Tien Giang, Soc Trang, Vinh Long... as well as promote cooperation with the Central Highlands provinces, such as Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, to recruit labor to meet recruitment demands of enterprises in the province.
