Established 10 years ago, the wholly foreign invested Esquel company under the Hong Kong Esquel Group is specialized in manufacturing various apparel products. The company now has 3,200 workers. Along with its production and business process, the company has actively got involved in activities for sake of the community.

 

The voluntary blood donation campaign at Esquel company has absorbed the participation of many workers.

 

 Over the past years, Esquel company got involved in many charity programs such as presenting gifts to poor ethnic people in the central highland province of Dac Nong, offering help to orphanages, centers for the disabled and the lonely elderly, providing relief aid to flood-hit people, donating scholarships to poor-but-excellent students…

 Noticeably, the company has paid more attention to the voluntary donation movement. The “Blood donation” festive day is annually held by the company. So far, the company has organized 5 stages of voluntary blood donation with 694 units of blood donated. Many workers herein have given blood many times. As planned, the company this year will mobilize its workers to donate 140 units of blood.

 To achieve the above-mentioned result, the propaganda and mobilization work of all people in the company to take part in the voluntary blood donation campaign has always received strong response from company directorate and trade union. The company has also disseminated about the noble meaning of voluntary blood donation among its workers to promote the campaign. In addition to the rights and interests as stipulated by the Ministry of Health, the company has provided each blood donor a meal worth VND25,000.

The voluntary blood donation campaign has launched everywhere in recent years and it has been developed deeply and widely in the social community. It is hoped that there will be more and more companies actively getting involved in the voluntary blood donation like Esquel company.
