Evaluating 2016 Lunar New Year: Jubilant, healthy, safe, practical

Morning Feb 15, provincial Party Standing Committee held a meeting to evaluate the situation of before, during and after 2016 Lunar New Year. Tran Van Nam, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, reports said before Tet, provincial Party, People's Committee, People's Council, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of agencies, sectors, organizations, businesses sent delegations to visit, extend New Year's greetings, give gifts to revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese heroic mothers, policy beneficiaries, poor families, children in difficult circumstances, armed forces, migrant workers in the province. The province also met diplomatic agencies, religious leaders and ethnic minorities, overseas Vietnamese in the province.

On Feb 2, provincial Party, People's Committee, People's Council, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee visited provincial martyrs cemetery and celebrated the 86^th CPV’s anniversary; conferred honors on 14 Vietnamese heroic mothers; 70-year, 60-year, 55-year, 50-year and 40-year Party seniority’s badge, held Spring 2016 get-togethers.

From the 27th to the 29th day of lunar December, provincial leadership visited, extend Tet greetings to doctors and poor patients staying at provincial General Hospital during Tet; units (police, military, fire prevention and fighting police) being on duty on New Year’s Eve and 3 State-owned enterprises in the province, attended the New Year’s Eve welcoming ceremony at Binh Duong New City…

Before Tet, the province organized many cultural activities, contests, spring festivals, flower streets… to serve the people on Tet occasion at many places in TDM City. Administrative Center held New Year’s Eve program from 6.00 pm on Feb 7 to 1.00 pm Feb 2 with music shows, fireworks performance, absorbing over 100,000 visitors; Folks Art Troupe in collaboration with Labor Confederation organized 5 music shows at provincial Cultural – Movies Center and 15 music shows, film shows for migrant workers at districts, towns, industrial parks, absorbing more than 36,500 viewers.

From the 28^th day of lunar Dec to 6^th day of lunar Jan, provincial Museum organized many activities, like: spring flower festival, spring press festival, art photography exhibition on the theme of “Welcoming the glorious Party - Welcoming Lunar New Year 2016”, spring flower festival with nearly 2,000 artifacts of provincial artisans. Fine Art and Photography exhibition displayed 160 photographic works. Spring Press Festival exhibited, introduced 500 spring publications of all newspapers across the country, and 2,000 copies of books about the Party, Spring, Vietnamese sea and islands.

To ensure public transport services, the province also directed localities to repair roads, examine traffic safety at unfinished traffic works; handle traffic safety and order violations to guarantee smooth traffic on all routes. In addition, the province realized passenger transport plans on Tet occasion in order for all passengers to return home safely, conveniently; allowed bus stations, transport businesses to open ticket sales locations at residential areas, industrial parks. Total number of bus departures reached over 3,000; passenger transport volume reached over 100,000. In general, thanks to early and careful preparation, passenger transport activities and traffic order and safety achieved good results during Tet.

Before, during and after Tet, political security and social order safety in the province was secured. The authorities were on duty day and night to guarantee seamless communication; organized peaks attacking crimes, preserving security and order, especially in key areas, bordering areas; dismantled criminal gangs, dangerous criminals, promptly stopped disruptive behaviors, theft, fraud, gambling, social evils...; militia forces coordinated with civil defense forces, police at grassroots units to conduct patrols to preserve local security and order; strictly managed localities and subjects; regulated traffic, ensured smooth traffic, prevented congestion, implemented well fire prevention and rescue works.

Speaking at the meeting, Tran Van Nam, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, appreciated the preparation and organization for a happy Lunar New Year of all levels, sectors, businesses in the province. Mr. Nam also noted some tasks in the coming time: monitoring the situation of workers after Tet as well as taking care of worker’s material life and spiritual life; fortifying social security and order, crime prevention, fire prevention, ensuring safety for the people; performing well military recruitment in 2016, National Assembly and People's Council elections at all levels; improving the quality of foreign affairs to serve provincial socio-economic development…
