Exemplary role of Party members promoted

In recent years, promoting the studying and following Uncle Ho’ teachings in Thu Dau Mot City has been concretized by many new models, initiatives combined with the implementation of the Central Resolution 4 (11^th term) to build a clean, strong Party.

Many good models 

Implementing Political Bureau’s Directive 03 promoting learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, so far, the city has had 35 models including 13 new models implemented in 2014. Some models have been replicated, such as: Studying corner of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology; Flag suspending on main routes on big holidays; Hanging Uncle Ho’s pictures at formal family places; Flag saluting on Mondays, meetings at beginning of each month; Tell stories about Uncle Ho and commendation of typical members.

Phu Tho ward is one locality doing a good job of organizing meetings at beginning of each month, telling stories about Uncle Ho. In addition to activities under thematic contents, Party members usually exchange experiences, introduce new models during break times. For example, the told story "Even the President does not have the privilege" reminded members to respect people, not to exploit power to cause trouble for the people.

Commending outstanding individuals at Story-telling contest of “Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, lifestyle” at Phu Tho ward, TDM City.

Phu Tho ward Party Secretary Tran Minh Trung said: “Meetings have helped Party members to be aware of Uncle Ho’s moral example. Hence, they strive constantly to cultivate virtues, practice thrift, improve administrative procedures, productivity, quality of work. In each meeting, each member alternately tells a story about Uncle that will be a profound lesson for all members. Therefore, civil servants now always smile on people, be on time, understand the people’s aspirations, raising the prestige of public authorities”.

Phu Cuong ward has also implemented hanging Uncle Ho’s pictures at home, lodging rooms. People of quarter 1 have considered this action as an honouring action. Thanh Huong lodging house’s owner Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong has accompanied civil servants to each household and encourage Uncle Ho’s pictures hanging.

Phu Cuong ward Party Deputy Secretary Nguyen Van Sang said: “Hanging Uncle Ho’s pictures at home is to remind everyone trying to learn, practice as Unlce Ho, simultaneously to educate children in families to live with beautiful and lofty purposes, ideals”.

Dignifying the exemplary role

Performing the theme of year 2014 “Upholding sense of responsibility, anti-individualism, walking the talk”, Party members were aware of their exemplary role, self-discipline, overcame their limitations and weaknesses in order to build cleaner and stronger units. Municipal leadership directed promoting urbanization and improvement of people's lives. Currently, the per capita income of the city is VND62.9 million/person/year; infrastructure has been increasingly upgraded. Some key works, such as: streets of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nguyen Chi Thanh, My Phuoc - Tan Van, roads to provincial Integrated Political Administrative Center, were finished, creating support from the people. The system of rural roads were upgraded with asphalt concrete, public lighting system achieved over 50%.

Thanks to responsibility to set an example, cultural, social, defense – security targets were achieved and exceeded, poverty rate in the city decreased by 0.3%. Facilities for education, health, sports were overall invested, over 51% of schools achieved national standards. The political system from high to low was strengthened, Party members, officials always strive to learn and follow Uncle Ho’s moral example.

According to Quarter 4 Party Secretary Tran Viet Phu (Phu Hoa ward), to promote the role of civil servant, he subscribes monthly deeds following Uncle Ho’s teachings, and then realized it. In particular, a cadre, Party member has to be “industriousness, thrifty, honesty, righteousness, public-spiritedness”, work wholeheartedly for the people, exemplary, voluntary in social and charity activities. Then, the mass would wholeheartedly learn and follow...

Municipal Propaganda and Training Committee’s Chief Nguyen Tuan assessed, during 2014, Party cells have implemented many new models, creating consensus among cadres, the people. Spirits, attitude, and sense of responsibility of officials were improved, complaints, legitimate rights of the people were handled promptly. Practical experiences confirmed the confidence and the need to follow Uncle Ho’s teachings.

"Continuing to learn, follow Uncle Ho’s moral example, in 2015, TDM City Party Committee will develop studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh on “honesty, responsibility; being close to the people; uniting to build clean and strong Party”. Party Committee of each level will devise their own forms in accordance with characteristics of each unit to achieve practical results”, said Mr. Tuan.
