Expansion of Bau Bang IP welcomes new opportunities
Following the success of Bau Bang Industrial Park (IP), Binh Duong province has continued implementing the expansion of the IP with a scale of over 1,000 hectares. Commenced at the same time as Cay Truong IP, the expanded Bau Bang IP is also planned with a harmonious integration of production and ecological protection, aiming at attracting high-quality projects, especially green and smart initiatives.
Promoting industrial infrastructure development
The existing Bau Bang IP covers more than 2,000 hectares of land. Thanks to its strategic advantages, it has become a desirable destination for both domestic and foreign investors, with about 1,000 hectares allocated for industrial development and the remainder for services and urban areas. The Prime Minister has approved the expansion of the park by additional 1,000 hectares, bringing the total planned area to over 3,000 hectares. Infrastructure is currently being built on the newly expanded area to welcome incoming investors.

With its large scale, the expanded Bau Bang IP is expected to become a breakthrough in attracting foreign investment, especially from large-scale manufacturers in electronics, precision engineering, logistics and auxiliary industries. Following the province’s orientation to shift industrial development to the north, Bau Bang district has become a strong magnet for investors. The district has been approved to expand its industrial park by 6.2 times compared to its current size. In addition to Bau Bang IP, its expansion and Cay Truong IP, the district is home to Tan Binh and Lai Hung IPs, which are being developed with modern infrastructure and are ready for investment.
According to leaders of Bau Bang district’s People's Committee, district-based IPs have opened up significant development opportunities for the locality. This has helped promote industrial growth, urbanization, commerce and services, with the district's industrial production value increasing by the annual average of over 21% in recent years. District-based IPs have featured synchronous, modern infrastructure and are located near key transport routes such as National Highway 13, the My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway and the North Tan Uyen – Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road. These routes ensure seamless connectivity with Ho Chi Minh city, Dong Nai, Long An and the Central Highlands. Thanks to these advantages, Bau Bang IP strongly appeals to investors. Many companies such as KyungBang Vietnam Co., Ltd., Polytex Far Eastern (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., Ecco Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Giant Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. are expanding operations and upgrading machinery to increase productivity.
Creating more opportunities for growth
Bau Bang district is oriented to become a driving force of development and the northern hub of innovation and industry in Binh Duong. In the planning proposal, leaders of provincial People's Committee assessed that Bau Bang is a locality with strong internal resources, solid leverage and full potential to advance further in the near future. In terms of transport infrastructure and capital attraction for IPs, the district has achieved remarkable results and is set to become Binh Duong's new industrial center.
Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC shared that the IPs invested by the corporation in general and particularly those in Bau Bang are being developed under the new-generation IP model. In addition to providing full services, technical and social infrastructure, these IPs are improving in terms of efficiency and sustainability through enhanced management and operation models to best support investors. Since 2023, with the goal of building a new smart-ecological industrial ecosystem, Becamex has partnered with the World Bank to conduct a pre-feasibility study on the potential for developing eco-industrial parks under the Government’s Decree No. 35/2022/NĐ-CP and international eco-industrial park frameworks for the IPs of Bau Bang, expanded Bau Bang and Cay Truong.
“The research and development of eco-IPs in Binh Duong is expected to bring numerous benefits, including knowledge enrichment, foreign investment attraction and cost savings. By establishing internationally recognized eco-industrial parks, Binh Duong not only gains valuable insights and performance monitoring capabilities, but also becomes an appealing destination for investors”, said Mr. Thuan.
To effectively implement provincial planning for the period of 2021–2030 with a vision to 2050, Binh Duong has continued investing in new and existing industrial parks, aiming at meeting higher standards in science, technology and environmental protection. The province particularly emphasizes the integration of industrial development with urban and service growth to attract increasingly high-quality and efficient investment projects. With its sustainable development model of "3-in-1": industrial park - urban area - service zone, Binh Duong is mobilizing all resources to build modern and synchronous infrastructure systems in line with industrial, service and urban development, thereby creating momentum to attract quality investment projects from both domestic and international sectors.
The expanded Bau Bang IP is located in Lai Uyen town and Cay Truong II commune of Bau Bang district and Long Tan commune of Dau Tieng district, covering 1,000 hectares (including over 892 hectares in Bau Bang and nearly 108 hectares in Dau Tieng). The project is developed by Becamex IDC with total estimated investment of VND 3,500 billion. |
