Expansion of field of action to support enterprises

Since the beginning of the year, in spite of high provincial export turnover, enterprises’ export has faced many difficulties. Import-Export Association (IEA) has organized many useful activities to facilitate commerce. Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Chairman of IEA about this issue. - Can you tell roles and goals of the Association’s activities? - IEA is a non-profit organization servicing businesses, is to connect State’s policies with enterprises. In addition, the IEA takes part in counseling document composing of agencies like Trade and Industry Department, Customs, VCCI… On the other hand, the IEA shares experiences of tax regulations, IE specialist training, training of Logistic businesses… with enterprises. Besides, the Association popularizes labor regulations among businesses. - What has the IEA done to support enterprises due to difficult export? - We have collected newest governmental documents and send them weekly to enterprises. We also have specialists in C/O application in order for enterprises to ensure preferential rights in terms of tariff and non-tariff quota. We have organized monthly, quarterly dialogues between enterprises and agencies and companies can present their problems directly to authorities for solutions. In addition, every year, the Association organizes for members to exchange experiences as well as to strengthen relationships between enterprises. A dialogue between provincial Customs and enterprises held by the IEA  - Provincial enterprises complaint about problems of receiving goods at HCM City’s ports. To solve this problem, what has the IEA done? - According to regulations of HCM City Customs, checking departments of goods and documents only work during office hours, leading to delay and time, money-consuming. To solve this problem, the IEA sent documents to HCM City Customs but then received an unsatisfactory answer. Thus we continued to send documents to provincial Customs and General Directorate of Customs for settlement. - Could you tell us about the advantages and disadvantages of the Association? - We have been supported by VCCI, PPC and other agencies to operate rightly and effectively, as well as commitments of members. Nevertheless, there are some difficulties like self-sufficient expenditure, unofficial office… - What is the IEA’s direction for the future, sir? - Apart from maintenance current activities, we enhance the connection with foreign associations, namely foundation of Binh Duong Logistic Association providing specialized documents in terms of logistic of businesses.
