Expectations for new-generation IPs

Update: 05-11-2024 | 11:37:36

After nearly 30 years of construction and development, Binh Duong has become a model of economic growth in Vietnam, influencing many other regions through its leading enterprises. In 1997, Binh Duong had only six industrial parks (IPs) with about 800 hectares. The whole province has so far developed 29 IPs with over 12,000 hectares in total area. Notably, the province's infrastructure system has steadily improved in quality, with Ips designed to be environmentally friendly and green, interwoven with urban areas and affordable housing areas for low-income workers. These industrial-urban ecosystems have promoted equitable access to social infrastructure, healthcare and education for people from all strata.

According to the IPs land-use plan for the 2021-2030 period, Binh Duong has invested in 18 IP projects covering over 6,573 hectares. By 2030, the province's industrial land will be 16,609.37 hectares, and by 2050, there will be 46 IPs with 24,338.7 hectares in total.

To keep pace with rapid advancements in science-technology and establish a solid foundation for sustainable growth, Binh Duong is focusing on upgrading existing IPs and investing in the new-generation ones such as the VSIP III, urban-service IPs, centralized IT zones, and mechanical IPs…with the expection of fostering a new ecosystem for technology- and knowledge-driven activities. With comprehensive preparation, these IPs are expected to lead the transition of current IPs into the smart ones, providing Binh Duong with a robust scientific and technical base, enabling the province to master and innovate production tools based on scientific advancements, seizing new opportunities in the coming era.
