Abundant export orders

With the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP) officially in force from January 2016 along with the ongoing US and China trade war, there has been a positive impact on the Export enterprises of Binh Duong in the past 3 months. Until now, many enterprises in the province have had export orders until the end of the second quarter of 2019, the number of orders also increased from 10 to 15% over the same period last year. Major export products of the province such as wood products, textiles, footwear, electronics maintained high average growth of 10-12%; The remaining items average growth of 5-10% compared to the same period last year.

In the past 3 months, wood and wood products continue to lead the province's export turnover. The main export markets of the province such as the US, European Union, Korea, China ... all achieved good growth rates, the number of export orders increased. Particularly for the US market, because the Government of this country promulgated a tax reduction policy for businesses to stimulate domestic production growth, including wood industry, should forecast in the coming time export products. Vietnam's entry into this market will be subject to fierce competition from local businesses.

Mr. Nguyen Liem, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Wood Processing Association, Chairman of Lam Viet Board of Directors (Tan Uyen town), said that in 2018 the company's export reached 28 million USD, increased by more than 20% compared with 2017; The first quarter of 2019 increased by 22% compared to the same period of 2018. In order to meet the conditions of goods export under the commitments of trade agreements that Vietnam has participated in the textile industry, and to enjoy preferential tariffs, garment enterprises of Binh Duong are each step to build the supply chain such as investment in textile and dyeing industry, fabric production, raw materials ... to improve the localization rate and competitiveness of textile products in the market. In the first quarter of 2019, the provincial leather shoe industry grew by 15.1% over the same period last year. The main export markets of this product such as the US, European Union, China, Japan, Korea ... all achieved positive growth; export orders also increased by 10-15% compared to the same period in 2018.

For the ceramics industry of the province, exports in the last 3 months increased by 14.6% over the same period last year. Binh Duong ceramics products are continuously improved in technology, quality as well as product designs. Until now, many ceramic enterprises in the province have exported orders to the second quarter of 2019, the number of export orders also increased by 10% over the same period last year.

Efforts from the beginning of the year

In 2019, with positive impacts from promoting institutional reforms, creating an investment, business environment, attracting investment by the Government and the elimination of tariff barriers under the roadmap of CPTPP is a condition It is convenient for Vietnamese goods to be exported to CPTPP members.

It is forecasted that this year, the province's textile and garment export turnover will increase by more than 15% compared to 2018. Currently garment orders are shifting from China to Vietnam due to the US-China trade war and the advantages of free trade agreements that Vietnam has brought, especially from CPTPP. .

According to Liem, in 2019, wood enterprises will face many advantages. Currently, wood enterprises in the province have many export orders. However, in order to implement large export orders, enterprises in the province need to meet the requirements of space and finance to invest in new production technology but currently these two areas are facing difficulties. . For example, in order to meet orders worth 100 million USD, the enterprise's production equipment must be automated to keep up with the quantity of goods ordered. But investing in modern equipment requires big costs, while not every wood enterprise in Binh Duong has enough potential for investment.
