Facilitating the development of the central urban core
Highlighting the advantages of its location and advanced infrastructure, situated along the radial foreign route of the Ho Chi Minh City region, Thu Dau Mot City is poised for significant developmental opportunities in the new era.

Diversify investment assets
Leveraging its advantageous regional transport infrastructure, the development of industry, trade, and services is generating a robust impetus for Thu Dau Mot City to evolve into an area characterized by balanced growth across various sectors. As outlined in the development plan, the transportation system in Thu Dau Mot City is undergoing diversification, encompassing railways, roads, and waterways, thereby enhancing the logistics chain to support the advancement of industry, trade, and services. Notably, the province is prioritizing investment in Metro lines No. 1 and No. 2, which will connect Binh Duong with Ho Chi Minh City, thereby establishing a modern public transport network. This initiative will facilitate urban expansion, elevate the quality of life for residents, and contribute significantly to the momentum of Thu Dau Mot City's future development.
According to the pre-feasibility study report, Metro Line 1 traverses four localities in Binh Duong province, namely Thu Dau Mot City, Tan Uyen City, Thuan An City, and Di An City, featuring 19 stations and one depot. Concurrently, the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision extending to 2050, outlines Binh Duong's commitment to investing in the construction of 12 urban railway lines (metro). For Metro Line 2, Binh Duong is intensifying survey efforts and data collection to facilitate the project's pre-feasibility study report. In terms of the route, Metro Line 2 will extend over 23 kilometers, connecting the center of Thu Dau Mot City to the Binh Phuoc intersection (Ho Chi Minh City), and will run along National Highway 13, linking to Hiep Binh Phuoc Station (Metro Line 3B Ho Chi Minh City), thereby serving as a catalyst for the real estate market in Thuan An City (Binh Duong).
Ms. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, Director of the World Trade Center of Binh Duong New City (WTC Binh Duong), stated that in alignment with local objectives, the new city is poised to emerge as a global trade center, linking not only the key southern provinces and cities but also the international community. Activities related to international trade and connectivity will serve as a catalyst for businesses to invest in the expansion of their operations and development strategies. The establishment of WTC Binh Duong will facilitate a more efficient hub for multi-industry trade events.
“The construction of the A1 roundabout complex project (WTC Gateway), situated at the roundabout of Binh Duong New City center and adjacent to the WTC Binh Duong International Exhibition Center, aims to enhance connectivity and support the domestic business community in fostering international trade. This initiative seeks to transform Binh Duong into a vibrant destination characterized by diverse services and a skilled workforce, capable of engaging in global trade, while simultaneously increasing the appeal of real estate projects in the region,” stated Ms. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh.
WTC Gateway is regarded as an iconic project that significantly contributes to attracting retailers and entertainment services, enhancing the lifestyle of the community while fostering a healthy competitive business environment for local enterprises. This strong appeal has led to the emergence of both large and small brands in Thu Dau Mot City, including Family Mart, Vin Mart+, Co.opFood, Bach Hoa Xanh, Lotte, Central Group, and Circle K.
Advancing the evolution of river logistics
At the recent meeting between the Government and localities within the Southeast Regional Council, the initiative to "awaken" riverside resources was recognized as a significant objective, aimed at establishing the second inter-provincial and city development program in the Southeast, following the Ring Road 3 project. The Saigon River Development Project encompasses a multifaceted approach, integrating road and waterway transportation, architectural design and spatial planning, economic, service, and tourism development, as well as landscape, environmental, cultural, heritage, spiritual, and residential aspects.
The two primary localities, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, are particularly focused on the prompt execution of the Saigon River road, which will connect the two areas with a configuration of 4-8 lanes. This riverside thoroughfare will extend from Ba Lua wharf in Thu Dau Mot City to Vinh Binh bridge, which borders Ho Chi Minh City, covering a total length of over 13 kilometers and is envisioned as a significant landscape axis for Thu Dau Mot City. The forthcoming Saigon River road, in conjunction with Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Goi Bridge, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, and various waterways, will unlock substantial potential for economic and tourism development, as well as urban growth along the river.
In Thu Dau Mot City, the river port system has garnered significant attention from local authorities to stimulate investment, notably Ba Lua Port (Phu Tho Ward). The port is slated to evolve into a passenger terminal spanning 10 hectares, aimed at fostering eco-tourism along the Saigon River. The initiative to expand Ba Lua Port is designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the locality and its surrounding areas. Furthermore, Binh Duong has been mobilizing extensive resources and allocating funding to invest in several key transportation projects, thereby attracting investment in construction and urban development in the West-Northwest region and along the Saigon River in Thu Dau Mot City.
Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 3B is designed to link Thu Duc City with Thu Dau Mot City. The total length of the line is approximately 12.2 kilometers, featuring 8 underground stations and 2 elevated stations. The route of Metro Line 3B commences at the Cong Hoa intersection, traverses Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Xo Viet Nghe Tinh (Ho Chi Minh City) - National Highway 13, and concludes at Hiep Binh Phuoc Depot Station in Thu Duc City. According to the plan, this metro line is expected to be extended to Thu Dau Mot City along National Highway 13, facilitating a connection with Binh Duong Metro Line 1. Subsequently, the line will link to Chon Thanh and the Hoa Lu border gate (Binh Phuoc), running parallel to National Highway 13 and the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh - Hoa Lu Expressway (CT.30). |
