Phu Giao district’s farm economy sees the growth of the models to breed

With its advantages on soil, climate and workforce, Phu Giao district has over time focused on promoting farm economy. This is also a highlight of the district’s economy, contributing to improving the local people’s living standards and changing the image of the rural land.

 

Among the farm economic models in Phu Giao district, the cultivation model has expressed its preeminence in promoting home-based business. The district has paid attention to fostering the animal husbandry model under the concentrated formulas, ensuring environmental hygiene. In recent years, the district has also seen the growth of the VAC farms and those to raise animals with high economic value like porcupine, crossbred wild boar…

 

In general, the district-based farm economic models have over time mobilized the inner force on loan and workforce among the local people, contributing to improving environment, placing jobs and increasing income to laborers; greatly contributing to eradicating hunger and reducing poverty in remote areas of the district.

 

The district now continues promoting its farm economic models. Vo Van Ba, chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that farm economy currently accounts for a big proportion in the district’s economic structure. As of mid-2010, the district had a total of 618 farms, including 486 perennial tree-growing farms, 119 animal husbandry farms and 13 agriculture-forest-fisheries farms. The total area of these farms now covers 5,895 ha with a total investment capital of VND755.7bln, generating jobs for 3,847 laborers. It is estimated that each farm secures the average income of VND170mln per year.
