Helping each other in economic development

Pham Van Hoc, a farmer in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Vinh township faced many difficulties in the initial period of setting himself up in business herein. But, thanks to his diligence, he has so far secured a source of stable income with around VND50mln a month from 7 hectares of rubber and 600 pepper trees.

He has also actively got involved in helping other farmers about techniques in cultivation, breeding animals and plants; contributed nearly 40VND to the local support fund for farmers and loan-rotating program, helping many farming households improve their lives.

As deputy head of the Farmers’ Society of hamlet 2 in Tan Hiep commune, also a good farmer in business and production, Nguyen Thi Mai has regularly learnt about diseases in cultivation & animal husbandry and reported them to the commune for timely solutions. She has actively attended training courses on sci-tech advancements and transferred them to the local farmers. In addition, she has always mobilized the local farmers to respond to the movements of “farmers helping each other in economic development”…

Actively getting involved in social activities

Nguyen Huu Van is well-known as a farmer who has got rich properly and excelled at social charity activities at hamlet 1, Phuoc Hoa commune, Phu Giao district. Over the past time, he made contributions of hundreds of million of dong to the local social charity activities, including building unity houses, presenting gifts and money to needy people…

Like Van, the family of Truong Van Nghiem in Vinh Hoa commune is very enthusiastic in the local social charity activities. His rubber latex-processing facility has so far generated jobs for 8 laborers with the average monthly income of VND3.5mln. He has actively got involved in the local social charity activities such as raising money for the local support fund for farmers, offered financial support for children with heart disease, the disabled…

The above activities have promoted the movements of Phu Giao district’s Farmers’ Associations at all levels, contributing to speeding up the local economic development and ensuring the local social welfare. Trinh Duc Dung, Vice-Chairman of Phu Giao district’s Farmers’ Society said that the local Farmers’ Societies at all levels over time actively implemented many effective business models, contributing to the local support fund for farmers and many other social activities.

More importantly, also through the above activities, farmers across the district have been active in emulation movements, contributing to successfully implementing the local targets on socio-economic development. In the first half of the year, the district’s Farmers’ Society helped 369 needy households get loans for production and business; organized 93 classes on transfer of sci-tech advancements for more than 7,000 learners and 13 short-term vocational training classes; mobilized organizations, individuals to build 1 unity house; reached 100% of members registering to implement the “cultural household” emulation movement…
