Farmers join hands to build new rural areas

Update: 12-07-2011 | 00:00:00

Binh Duong Province is aiming to meet the standard of new rural area criteria. By 2015, it is expected that 40% of 31 communes will be standardized.

To reach for the targets, Mr. Lam Van Hoa, Deputy Chairman of Provincial Farmer Association said that the first priority would be poverty eradication thanks to production movement among farmers. However, price fluctuation is turning them down, asserted Mr. Lam Van Hoa. In the face of this, the farmer supporting fund has helped to disburse loans of VND 5.1 billion to 475 households. Meantime, training courses are also offered to farmers with the help of projects conducted by Department of Science and Technology.

In contacting Mr. Lam Van Hoa, we were further informed that environment protection is also a vital factor to rural development. Living environment has become spotlight recently for technology advances have brought with them bad effects. Therefore, farmers should be educated with environment protection which is detailed in contest activities. Besides, farmers should be well trained as highlighted in a project of vocational training for farmers co-held by Farmers Association and DOLISA.
