Farmers rise up from poverty

The outstanding result from the movement of farmers doing good business and production in the province is that many farmers from difficulties have become billionaires.

Getting rich due to strong will

Nguyen Ngoc Diep, living in Quarter 5, Phuoc Vinh Town, Phu Giao District, has been admired for her will to rise up and her diligence. During 1996-2017, she raised 15,000 industrial chickens with a cold farm. Every year, this chicken farm earned her a profit of VND 400 million.

She also takes advantage of biological composted chicken manure to fertilize rubber trees. Currently, her family has 20 ha of rubber trees. Thanks to this organic fertilizer, the plants grow well, have less disease, have much latex. Each year, rubber trees generate a profit of over VND 500 million. She also has 8,000m2 of mokara orchids and wild orchids, bringing high economic efficiency.

Ms. Diep said, she implemented the policy of high-tech agricultural production, applied many production models, such as industrial chicken farming (cold farm), rubber tree planting, orchids, dried fish... These models bring high economic efficiency. Currently, she also offers flower arrangement services for ceremonies, New Year festivals, conferences, events ...

While developing her family's economy, Ms. Diep also offers stable jobs to 15 employees and more than 800 local seasonal workers. Besides, she also helps 20 households to have a stable job and escape from poverty.

Her business models earn an average income of nearly 2 billion VND per year. To achieve this result, Ms. Diep said that besides her own efforts, her family was also supported by the State in terms of policies, capital, agricultural extension, and scientific and technological transfer. She also actively participates in local movements, such as donating 20 million VND, more than 2,500m2 of land, 140 rubber trees to make rural roads ...

With these results, she has received the title of farmer doing good business and production in many years.

Success due to venturesome spirit

With creative, enterprising spirit, Le Van Hon, in Tan Hoi Quarter, Tan Hiep Ward, Tan Uyen Town, has been successful with the model of growing abalone mushroom, lingzhi mushroom, and breeding cows. Each month, these models bring him an income of over 90 million VND.

On an area of ​​4,000m2, his abalone mushroom, lingzhi mushroom model yields 20 tons/year. To achieve this result, he bravely applied new technologies in production, such as automatic irrigation system to reduce labor costs and bring high quality products. Besides, he applies a production model associated with preserving, processing, and consumption of agricultural products, producing clean food associated with environmental protection. He was also supported by Farmers' Association to visit and learn about other efficient business models; to participate in workshops on seedlings, how to prevent, care for, and treat diseases on mushrooms ...

Each month, Le Van Hon earns tens of millions VND from abalone and lingzhi mushrooms.

Apart from doing good business, Mr. Hon also guides, shares production experience, applies scientific and technical advances, creates many jobs for rural workers. He and his family have complied with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, actively participated in local emulation and charity movements.

With his achievements and contributions, Mr. Hon received a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister for his achievements in emulation movement in 2017, and a certificate of merit by Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in agricultural restructuring in 2013-2018 period and many other rewards.

Being better off thanks to application of initiatives

Tang Thi Hang in Bau Cam Hamlet, An Long Commune, Phu Giao District is one of the prominent farmers in the province's new rural construction movement. In recent years, she has bravely applied innovations in production and economic activities for her family.

Bird nest raising model has achieved high results. Currently, her family has 5 bird houses. In addition, her family also practices a model of raising rabbits in garden and planting durian trees. Currently her family has more than 10 hectares of land, including 9 hectares of rubber trees, more than 1 hectare of other crops combined with rabbits. Each year, her economic models bring more than VND1 billion to her family.

Thanks to entrepreneurial spirit and application of advanced science and technology into cultivation and husbandry, Ms. Hang's family has so far been better off. Her family also helps many poor families and farmers to develop home-based business models and stabilize their lives. "My family sells fertilizers and plant protection drugs to people who are still in difficulty with deferred payment, no interest until their harvest", said Ms. Hang.

Currently, her family is providing stable jobs for 17 workers and nearly 30 local seasonal workers. In addition, with the spirit of mutual affection, she regularly provides technical guidance and capital support for 25 near-poor households to give them the opportunity to have a new better life.

With these meaningful and practical jobs mentioned above, from 2014 to 2018, Ms. Hang received certificate of merit 3 times by Provincial People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in the movement of farmers doing good business and production, and gained province-level title in period 2014-2016.
