Fatherland Front Committees at all levels brings happy spring to the poor

These days, the warm spring air is coming to every home, everyone. All levels, branches and unions also mobilized the whole society to give many Tet gifts to disadvantaged people, poor and near-poor households. In particular, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has carried out many activities to take care of the poor and policy beneficiaries so that they can enjoy a peaceful and happy Tet.

Gifts given by the Fatherland Front at all levels encourage people those living in hardship while Tet is coming.

Give away thousands of gifts

Nguyen Thi Nham, living in Quarter 3, Hiep An Ward of Thu Dau Mot City, is a poor family. In the days approaching Tet, a small joy came to Nham when she received Tet gifts, which were donated by businesses and presented by Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Dau Mot city. Nham joyfully said: “Many other poor families and I feel so touched as receiving these Tet gifts. In this tough period, these gifts help us a lot and warm our hearts, so that we can celebrate Tet more fully. We appreciate and are grateful for this care.”

In order to take care of members and people during the Lunar New Year 2023, Fatherland Front and mass organizations in Thu Dau Mot City have put more effort to well implement social security policies, promote the great solidarity, the spirit of mutual affection, take care of the people’s material and mental lives.  Namely, Fatherland Front of the city, wards, and quarters mobilized donations and gave nearly 2,500 gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and people having difficult circumstances, with a total cost of more than 850 million VND.

In addition, the City Fatherland Front coordinated with Gonsa Pharm Company - Kocham Association to present 250 gifts worth nearly 170 million VND. Particularly, the Fatherland Front of wards in the city collaborated with People's Committee, offices and unions of wards to mobilize more than 11,500 gifts for poor households, near-poor households, people having extremely difficult circumstances, lonesome elderly... for a total of nearly 3.9 billion VND. In addition, the Fatherland Front of wards organized "Spring of love", "Zero-dong market", offered vegetables and fruits to disadvantaged households...

In North Tan Uyen district, according to Vo Thi Tuyet Nhung, Vice Chairman of the district's Fatherland Front Committee, said that as of January 9, the district Fatherland Front Committee started a campaign to mobilize the district's Buddhist Church, BIDV Bank, and gave more than 300 gifts to disadvantaged people; presented 20 gifts to Loc An Border Guard Station in Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province.

In addition, member organizations of the district's Fatherland Front Committee also called on supports and received nearly 3,800 gifts worth nearly 3 billion VND to perform Tet-caring activities for disadvantaged groups; presented more than 300 medical examination and treatment vouchers worth more than 210 million VND and 1 dream room worth 5 million VND. Fatherland Front Committee of communes and towns in North Tan Uyen district also called and collaborated to donate more than 2,700 gifts worth more than 1 billion VND, 4 savings books, etc. to poor households, near-poor households, and people having extremely difficult circumstances to help them celebrate Tet.

Everyone has happy Tet

Tran Thi Kim Lan, Vice Chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, said: "With the motto "Joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Front at districts, towns, cities, and member organizations have carried out care and support activities for poor households on occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023.

Provincial Fatherland Front ordered member organizations to review groups that need support to have a plan for Tet visits and gift giving; strengthen supervision, ensure proper care, practicality, avoid duplication or omission; completely and timely care. Especially, this year, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front coordinated with Provincial Labor Confederation to visit and give gifts to workers suffering from serious diseases".

Lan said, this year, the Standing Committee of Provincial Fatherland Front also visited and gave gifts to 1,554 people living in 13 social protection centers in the province with total expenditure of more than 1.5 billion VND; coordinated with the Central Fund for the Poor to give Tet gifts to 200 poor people in Dau Tieng and Phu Giao districts with total amount of VND 240 million. In particular, a delegation of the Central Committee led by Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Committee for Internal Affairs, visited and presented 30 gifts, each including 1 million VND cash and necessities, to poor households and policy families in three communes An Tay, An Dien, Phu An (Ben Cat Town).

In addition, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee mobilized companies and units to donate 2,700 Tet gifts worth nearly 1.8 billion VND to the poor and people living in hardship in the province. The Provincial Campaign Committee of Day for the Poor presented 27 houses of great solidarity worth more than 2.7 billion VND to poor households, near-poor households, and people having extremely difficult circumstances to help them celebrating the national traditional New Year. ...
